Flaxseed flour is recommended as an alternative to traditional wheat flour or as a complement to other flours. It is a source of health in its simplest gluten-free form.
Flaxseed meal is an ideal product for cooking, frying and baking, such as bread, cakes, pancakes and cookies. It can also be consumed without heat treatment as an addition to pastas, yoghurts, fruit or vegetable smoothies. Flour is characterized by its high protein and dietary fiber content, which is a very important element of a balanced, healthy and effective diet.
Perfect regulation of the digestive system is one of the most beneficial properties of flax. The quality of flaxseed flour is maintained for a long time. Flour contains calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and magnesium. The product is also low in sodium and saturated fatty acids.
A cup contains 110 grams of flaxseed meal, 41.8 grams of protein, 8.8 grams of fat, 4.4 grams of carbohydrates and 37.4 grams of fiber. This portion of flaxseed meal is 15.55% of the daily caloric requirement for the diet (2000 kcal).
Delicious bread with flaxseed flour
You will need:
- 350 g wheat flour
- 150 g flaxseed flour
- 0.5 liters of water
- 2.5 g yeast
- 0.5 tsp Sahara
- 4 tbsp. oatmeal
- 1 tsp salt
- sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flaxseed, raisins, cranberries (additives to taste)
Performance:
Brew the yeast and sprinkle with sugar, add a little water and dissolve. After dissolving, add oatmeal, salt, warm boiled water, stir and let stand for 20 minutes. Then add flour and additives (such as flaxseed, sunflower, pumpkin, raisins, etc.). Stir and leave to rise. Place in molds and smooth the surface by pressing with a damp hand. Bake for 1.5 hours (sometimes longer depending on appearance) at a maximum temperature of 160 degrees.
Flax flour dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms
For the test:
- about 2 cups flaxseed meal
- a pinch of salt
- about ¼ cup boiled water (you can add less and add water if necessary when kneading the dough)
- 1 egg
- spoon of butter
For filling:
- 6-8 large mushrooms
- 200 g sauerkraut
- salt, pepper (to taste)
- frying oil
Performance:
Pour flour into a bowl, add salt. Place the butter in boiled water, melt and slowly pour into the flour while stirring. Add the egg, combine all the ingredients and knead the dough well. To do this you will need about 10 minutes of time. Wrap the dough in foil and leave for half an hour. Divide the dough into small pieces and roll it into thin pancakes. Sprinkle with flour if necessary.
Wash the mushrooms thoroughly, peel and finely chop. Fry in oil, add salt and pepper at the end of frying. If necessary, rinse the cabbage with water (if it was too acidic). Finely chop, place in a saucepan and add water and spices. Simmer for about 20 minutes until the cabbage is soft. Strain the cabbage and mix with the mushrooms. If the filling is too dry, you can add a little melted butter.
Make circles of dough (for example, with a glass), stretch them a little with your fingers and place one spoon of filling in the center of the circle. Fold in half and gently press the edges. If the dough is too sticky, you can sprinkle the edges of the dumplings with flour.
Boil salted water in a large saucepan, add about 10 dumplings to the boiling water. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium and cook dumplings for about 2 minutes. The cooking time depends on the thickness of the dough. Dumplings can be sprinkled with fried onions.
Flaxseed is a relatively inexpensive but not very well known product. Recently, it has begun to regain its position as a “super product” and is becoming extremely fashionable among people who care about a well-groomed figure and health.
