AFLODERM: DOSAGE
The cream is recommended for use in the treatment of acute diseases, incl. weeping skin lesions; ointment - for the treatment of subacute and chronic dermatoses, incl. dry, lichenified and scaly lesions, or in cases where the occlusive action of the ointment is necessary.
Cream or ointment is evenly applied in a thin layer to the affected areas of the skin 2-3 times a day. On areas with thicker skin (for example, elbows, palms and feet), as well as places from which the drug is easily erased, Afloderm should be applied more often.
In children and during the period when the main symptoms subside, the drug can be used once a day.
To prevent relapses in the treatment of chronic diseases, therapy should be continued for some time after all symptoms disappear.
Why is the cream prescribed: indications for use
The reasons for prescribing the drug in question may be conditions associated with inflammatory processes of the skin and responsive to therapy with glucocorticosteroids, namely:
- eczema and psoriasis;
- contact and allergic type dermatitis, including reactions to external physical factors;
- atopic dermatitis;
- the occurrence of a skin reaction to an insect bite.
The drug can also be used as part of preventive treatment in the presence of chronic skin diseases in order to minimize the risk of their exacerbation.
AFLODERM: Pregnancy and lactation
The use of Afloderm during pregnancy is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. In such cases, the use of the drug should be short-term and limited to a small area of skin.

There are no data on the teratogenic effect of the drug.
It is possible to use the drug Afloderm during lactation, but with precautions, in particular, the drug should not be applied to the skin of the mammary gland before feeding.

Overdose

Demonstrate suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system in children: linear inhibition of growth, insufficient body weight gain, low level of cortisol in blood plasma and section, absence of ACTH levels mulation. Displacement of the intracranial pressure is manifested by a bulging ventricle, headache, and bilateral swelling of the nerve discs.

In case of overdose, the drug should be taken slowly. Introduce appropriate symptomatic therapy from regular visits to support normal functioning of the body. Release form, composition
The composition of one gram of ointment contains about 0.5 mg of the active component alklometasone dipropionate. Additional components here are: hexylene glycol, white petrolatum, propylene glycol monostearate, white wax.
Afloderm cream contains 0.5 mg of the active substance aclomethasone dipropionate per gram. Minor ingredients are: propylene glycol, sodium phosphate monobasic dihydrate, chlorocresol, phosphoric acid, macrogol cetostearyl ether 22, cetostearyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate polyethylene glycol 100 stearate, sodium hydroxide, white petrolatum and purified water.
Both forms of the drug are used only for external use. The cream has a white, uniform consistency, and the ointment is presented in the form of a thick, homogeneous substance of a light yellow hue, which does not contain mechanical inclusions.
Cream and ointment are produced in aluminum tubes of 20 and 40 grams, which, in turn, are packaged in a cardboard box, which, in addition to the medicine, contains instructions for use.
The drug should be stored in a cool place, out of reach of children, at a temperature of no more than + 30°C. The product should not be exposed to direct sunlight. The cream has a shelf life of two years, and the ointment has a shelf life of three years.

Side effects
Local administration of alklometasone in therapeutic doses is well tolerated and rarely causes side effects. Side effects may be local or systemic. Local side effects are more likely to occur under occlusive dressing.
Any side effects that increase with systemic constipation of glucocorticoids, including suppression of the measles of the epithelium, may also occur with their local constipation.
Adverse reactions that occur when the drug is stagnated, classified according to organ systems and the frequency of their manifestation: very often: ≥ 1/10; often: ≥ 1/100 – < 1/10; uncommon: ≥ 1/1000 – < 1/100; rare: ≥ 1/10,000 – < 1/1000; very rare: < 1/10,000; unknown (does not extend the assessment based on the range of available data).

Possible side effects:
- Skin redness, peeling and itching.

- Irritation of the skin around the mouth and in the corners of the lips, as well as a rash on the face resembling acne.
Frequent use over a long period without breaks leads to:
- skin stretch marks, stretch marks, skin atrophy, spider veins, hair loss;
- decreased immunity and increased chronic diseases;
- gastritis, stomach ulcers, diabetes.
In case of serious changes, use of Afloderm should be interrupted and consult a dermatologist.
