Ketonal duo for osteochondrosis reviews

Ketonal Duo - instructions for use

For muscle and joint pain, Ketonal Duo tablets are used, which are classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The duration of their use depends on the severity of the disease, stage of progression, age and individual characteristics of the patient. The maximum daily dose is 200 mg of ketoprofen. Due to the possible negative effect of the substance on the mucous membranes, it is allowed to combine Duo Ketonal with antacids to prevent gastrointestinal diseases.

The dosage regimen depends on the format of the medicine and the course of symptoms. Approximate dosages will be:

  • Ketonal Forte tablets – 100-200 mg per day (1 tablet 1-2 times per day), can be combined with suppositories according to the scheme: a tablet in the morning and a suppository in the evening;
  • Duo Ketonal capsules - for patients over 15 years of age, 1 capsule (150 mg) per day, washed down with water or 100 ml of milk;
  • parenteral (“past the intestines”) administration - intramuscular, 100 mg of ketoprofen twice a day, infusions are done only in a hospital, the procedure lasts up to an hour, with intravenous administration - no longer than two days, a maximum of 200 mg can be consumed per day;

Release form

The active substance ketoprofen contains all formats of the drug: rectal suppositories, solution for infusion, film-coated tablets and prolonged action. Ketonal modified-release capsules have a transparent tablet body and a blue cap, inside there are white and yellow pellets.

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The active substance ketoprofen is a NSAID and has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect. During inflammation, it increases the synthesis of prostaglandins, inhibits the activity of enzymes, and stabilizes the permeability of the cell membrane. Ketoprofen reduces the severity of pain in primary dysmenorrhea, has a universal analgesic effect, and relieves the symptoms of the inflammatory process in the musculoskeletal system.

The substance is quickly absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract; ketoprofen reaches its maximum concentration after oral administration after 1.5 hours. Bioavailability is 90%. The medicine acts by releasing the active substance and has a prolonged effect. Eating food, especially fatty foods, slows down the rate of absorption of ketoprofen. With rectal administration, the concentration of methotrexate becomes maximum after an hour, with parenteral administration - five minutes. Plasma clearance of ketoprofen is 0.08 l/kg/h.

The substance penetrates the synovial fluid, relieves joint pain, and eliminates stiffness. Ketoprofen does not accumulate within tissues. Metabolism is carried out by the liver, the drug is excreted in urine and feces. In patients suffering from liver failure, ketoprofen can be found in the form of accumulations in tissues, and in old age it can slow down in metabolism and excretion.

Reviews

Yana, 18 years old

After knee surgery, my leg hurt very badly. The doctor prescribed a new medicine, Ketonal, in capsules, and prescribed me to take one every day. I liked the product - it quickly relieved pain, it acted quickly. After a week I could do without it, but I remembered it for the future as an effective pain reliever.

Maxim, 33 years old

The membrane inside my tooth became inflamed, my gums hurt terribly and ached. I went to the dentist and received a referral for an autopsy. To prevent pain from causing discomfort, the doctor prescribed Duo Ketonal. I came to the pharmacy and wanted to buy, but the pharmacist dissuaded me and gave me an over-the-counter equivalent. I gave in, but I didn’t regret it, it costs less, but the effect is the same.

Mila, 27 years old

Due to constant work on the computer, my thumb joint became inflamed, it hurt very much, and caused inconvenience. The doctor prescribed injections and Ketonal capsules to relieve pain. I liked that they instantly calmed the inflammation; I didn’t even immediately understand why I felt so comfortable. Excellent product, works quickly, lasts a long time, I recommend it!
