Ketosteril is available in the form of yellow film-coated tablets (20 pieces in blisters, 5 blisters in sealed bags, 1 bag in a cardboard box).

The total nitrogen content is 36 mg. Calcium content – 50 mg (1.25 mmol).

Adults and children over 3 years old are prescribed 1 tablet/5 kg/day or 100 mg/kg/day. So, for example, with a body weight of 70 kg (for an adult), 4-8 tablets are prescribed. 3 times a day.
Take orally during meals without chewing. The daily dose is divided into 3 doses.
The drug is prescribed for the entire period when the glomerular filtration rate does not exceed 25 ml/min.
Before dialysis, it is recommended to reduce the protein content in food to 40 g/day or less, depending on the degree of chronic renal failure.
In patients on dialysis, protein intake should be as recommended by the physician.
For children 3-10 years old, protein is recommended in an amount of 1.4-0.8 g/kg/day, for children over 10 years old - 1-0.6 g/kg/day.

Drug interactions

In order not to interfere with absorption in the intestines, you should not take drugs that form poorly soluble compounds with calcium (for example, tetracyclines, quinolones, drugs containing iron, fluorine and estramustine) simultaneously with Ketosteril®.
