Medicine "Ingalipt": instructions for use, indications and side effects

The drug "Inhalipt" refers to combined antimicrobial drugs. It comes in spray form and is a clear liquid. When inhaled during spraying, you can feel the characteristic smell of mint and thymol. The active components of the drug "Ingalipt" (spray) are sodium norsulfazole and soluble streptocide. Excipients include peppermint and eucalyptus oils, thymol, ethyl alcohol, purified water and glycerin.

pharmachologic effect

Inhalipt is a combination drug for the local treatment of infectious and inflammatory processes of the throat and oral cavity.

Sulfonamides, which are part of ingalipt, have an antimicrobial effect against a wide range of microorganisms that cause inflammatory diseases of the throat and oral cavity.

Thymol, peppermint and eucalyptus oils suppress the activity of bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida, and also have an anti-inflammatory, distracting and analgesic effect.

Inhalipt m spray: instructions for use

According to the accepted pharmaceutical classification, Ingalipt spray and aerosol belong to combined agents with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. The bottles contain tiny particles that instantly penetrate the skin and mucous membranes of the mouth. Due to high dispersion, a smaller dosage of the drug is required. Sealed cylinders are safe from an antiseptic point of view.

Composition of Ingalipt

Two forms of Inhalipt are available - spray and aerosol, which differ slightly in the composition and volume of the bottles. The main difference is the method of extracting the medicine from the bottle and the size of the sprayed particles (in an aerosol they are an order of magnitude smaller).

Spray Aerosol
Description Transparent yellow liquid with a characteristic menthol odor
Active substances Norsulfazole, streptocide, thymol, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil Soluble streptocide, sodium sulfathiazole hexahydrate, thymol, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil
Compound Ethyl alcohol, glycerin Ethanol, sugar, glycerin, water, nitrogen, polysorbate
Package 25 ml cylinders Aerosol cans 30 ml

The drug is a combination product for local use in the oral cavity. The composition contains soluble sulfonamides, which have an antimicrobial effect against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Thymol and oils have an antifungal effect against fungi of the genus Candida, relieve inflammation of the mucous membrane, and slightly relieve pain.

The properties of each component help the drug effectively cope with oral diseases:

  • streptocide (sulfanilamide) is an antibacterial agent that eliminates the vital processes of microbes;
  • thymol – a natural antiseptic, extracted from thyme;
  • glycerol – draws exudate from tissues, eliminates purulent plaque;
  • Eucalyptus oil is an antiseptic and relieves pain.

According to the instructions, only a small amount of spray and aerosol is absorbed in the oral cavity, minimally penetrates into the blood plasma, which does not affect the body's metabolic processes. This provides Ingalipt with good tolerability and hypoallergenicity. Sulfanilamide and norsulfazole bind to blood proteins and are excreted by the kidneys a couple of hours after administration.

The instructions for use of the drug contain information about the following indications for its use by patients:

  • acute and chronic tonsillitis, aphthous stomatitis (an infectious disease accompanied by pustular lesions - aphthae);
  • pharyngitis (pharynx disease), laryngitis (larynx disease);
  • other infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract;
  • follicular or lacunar tonsillitis.

Individual intolerance to sulfonamides, essential oils and other components of the drug; children under 18 years of age.

Allergic reactions to furosemide, thiazide diuretics, carbonic anhydrase inhibitors and sulfonylurea derivatives. Renal failure, severe liver dysfunction, blood diseases, congenital deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, thyrotoxicosis, pregnancy, lactation.

Cautions for use

Before irrigating, the mouth must be rinsed with warm boiled water. Necrotic plaque is carefully removed from the affected areas of the oral cavity (ulcerative, erosive surface) with a sterile swab.

The drug contains ethanol.

Do not allow the drug to get into your eyes! If symptoms persist or worsen while using the drug, you should consult a doctor. If hypersensitivity reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued. During long-term treatment, systematic monitoring of blood counts, kidney and liver function is recommended.

  • Interaction with other drugs and other types of interactions
  • When used simultaneously with para-aminobenzoic acid derivatives (novocaine, anesthesin, dicaine), the antibacterial activity of sulfonamides decreases.

  8. Prescribed topically to adults for irrigation of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and nasopharynx.

Before use, remove the safety cap from the bottle, which must be held only vertically, and put the sprayer on the valve stem. The sprayer is inserted into the oral cavity and pressed on the valve 3-4 times. Irrigation is carried out 3-4 times a day for adults after meals or in between meals. The sprayed drug is kept in the oral cavity for 5-7 minutes.

The course of treatment is 3-10 days.

To avoid clogging of the sprayer after irrigation, wash it under running warm water, shake it and dry it, or place it in a glass of clean water.

Ingalipt is a drug for local use - irrigation of the nasopharynx and oral cavity.

For adult patients, treatment is carried out for 5-7 seconds 4 times a day. For a child, irrigation is performed for 1-2 seconds 3 times a day.

The duration of the course of treatment is 7-10 days. Longer use of the drug is possible after consultation with the attending physician, depending on the severity of the patient’s condition and the presence of pain in the throat area.

Before using Ingalipt spray, you should familiarize yourself with doctors' recommendations for its use:

  • rinse your mouth with warm water;
  • If possible, plaque from the mucous membrane should be removed using a cotton pad;
  • place the spray nozzle on the valve stem;
  • keep the bottle in a vertical position upside down;
  • insert the spray tube into the oral cavity and direct it to the treatment site;
  • injection of the drug is carried out for 2-7 seconds depending on the age of the patient;
  • After using the spray, do not consume food or liquid for 30 minutes.

Ingalipt spray for children does not exist as a separate form of medicine.

According to doctors, the use of the drug before the age of three is not recommended due to the peculiarities of the child’s body and the high sensitivity of the laryngeal mucosa to the action of the drug components.

After 3 years, the drug is prescribed in a dosage of 1-2 injections twice a day. The duration of treatment is 5 days.

For the treatment of infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract in children under one year of age, the drug is used only as prescribed by the attending physician. For a child under one year old, the drug is sprayed onto a pacifier or onto the mucous surface of the cheek.

According to parents' reviews, the use of Ingalipt spray for an infant may be difficult due to the strong menthol taste that the medicine has. If the child calmly reacts to the taste of the medicine, then its use will not be difficult in any way, although currently pharmacies can offer a large selection of medicines that have a neutral taste and smell.

In addition, a child up to a year after using the drug may experience a burning sensation in the esophagus and nausea, which go away on their own and do not require symptomatic treatment.

Sulfonamides included in the drug have a systemic effect on the body of a small child. This is very important, since viral infections at this age develop rapidly and can cause complications.

According to the instructions, Ingalipt spray can be used to treat inflammatory diseases of the nasopharynx during pregnancy only as prescribed by the attending physician.

The active ingredients of the drug are well tolerated by patients, but may have a negative effect on the fetus.

During the treatment period, it is better to stop breastfeeding, since the components of Ingalipt, entering the blood, can penetrate into breast milk and affect the baby’s health.

Ingalipt - instructions for use for children

The drug should not be used by children under three years of age. This is due to the presence of ethanol in the composition and the irritating effect of some ingredients. Before starting treatment, perform an allergy test - inject a small amount of medicine onto your tongue. If there are no negative reactions, you can use the medication according to the instructions.

According to the instructions, you need to point the sprayer at the cheek, along which the medicine will go down into the throat. The dosage of the Ingalipt spray and aerosol for children is twice as different from that for adults - irrigate the mucous membrane 1-2 times a day, pressing the nozzle once. Before use, it is better to consult a pediatrician to eliminate the risk of reflex bronchospasm.

Release form and composition

The drug is available in the form of an aerosol for topical use: a liquid from dark yellow to light yellow in color, transparent, with a characteristic odor (30 g in aluminum aerosol cans, in a cardboard box 1 can complete with a neck nozzle and a safety cap, as well as instructions for use of Ingalipt-N).

One cylinder contains:

  • active ingredients: soluble streptocide – 0.75 g; sodium sulfathiazole – 0.75 g;
  • auxiliary components: thymol, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, glycerin (glycerol), refined sugar (sucrose), Tween-80 (polysorbate-80), ethyl alcohol 96% (ethanol), purified water.

Inhalipt: indications for use

The drug contains a number of components that have a targeted antiseptic effect. These are sulfanilamide, sulfathizole, thymol, eucalyptus oil, mint oil.

Sulfanilamide (streptocide) is an active ingredient that has an antibacterial effect. The drug is active against pathogenic microorganisms that cause damage to the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract.

Sulfathiazole represents a group of sulfonamide drugs with antibacterial action with a strong antimicrobial effect.

Thymol is part of the essential oils of thyme and thyme. It is used as an antiseptic for throat diseases.

Peppermint oil has antispasmodic and analgesic properties and a strong mucolytic effect. It effectively relieves muscle spasms of the upper respiratory tract. It contains menthol, resinous and tannin substances, carotene, vitamins, and ascorbic acid.

Glycerol has an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, softens the mucous surface of the nasal cavity and throat, removes purulent plaque from sore throat, tonsillitis, stomatitis, and laryngitis.

Eucalyptus oil is obtained from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree. It has antiseptic, antitussive and analgesic effects. It is used for inhalation in the treatment of respiratory infections. Eucalyptus oil can have a healing effect on the affected mucous membrane of the mouth and nose.

The auxiliary components of the preparation include purified water, sugar, ethyl alcohol, and stabilizer. Nitrogen is used as a propellant, creating pressure.

Currently, pharmacologists offer the drug Ingalipt-N, which contains the active substance norsulfazole. This is a new generation drug with a wider range of uses for the treatment of respiratory diseases.

The drug is a yellow liquid with a characteristic menthol taste and a specific odor.

The drug is packaged in 80 ml bottles with a sprayer.

Previously, Ingalipt was produced only in aerosol form. Now patients can use a more convenient and safe form - a spray.

These forms of the drug are practically no different from each other. They have the same composition, color, smell and method of application. The main difference lies in the design of the sprayer. The aerosol can has a valve that opens when pressed. It is very difficult to control the dosage with this method, since the drug is injected while the valve is open.

The spray is packaged in a bottle with a micropump equipped with a spray tube and a piston, thanks to which the medicine is dosed automatically. Particles of the drug in the form of a spray are several times larger than aerosol particles, which means they will be absorbed into the damaged surface of the mucous membranes several times faster. The use of sprays allows you to avoid spasms of the upper respiratory tract in children.

After spraying, the drug covers the mucous membrane of the throat and nose with a film and destroys pathogenic bacteria on the affected surface, relieves inflammation, and cleanses the surface of the nasopharynx from purulent plaque. Under the influence of the drug, the intensity of cough decreases. The patient's general condition is improving.

Absorption of a small amount of the drug occurs in the oral cavity. The active substances bind to blood proteins and are excreted from the body by the kidneys a few hours after use.

When using Ingalipt spray, the active ingredients have an analgesic effect on the affected mucous membranes. The drug cleanses the surface of the nasopharynx from plaque and destroys pathogens.

According to the instructions for use, the product is used to treat infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract:

  • acute tonsillitis, in which the lymphoid formations of the pharynx are damaged;
  • tonsillitis;
  • pharyngitis;
  • stomatitis;
  • laryngitis.

Most patients tolerate Ingalipt spray well. The only contraindication is hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

The use of the drug is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to essential oils and a possible allergic reaction associated with their use.

Inhalipt should be used with extreme caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The need to use the drug should be clarified with your doctor.

Inhalipt is used only after consultation with a specialist if the child has not reached 3 years of age. This is due to the risk of laryngospasm caused by the action of the drug.

The use of Ingalipt spray is not recommended for patients diagnosed with bronchial asthma of allergic origin.

Using Ingalipt spray can cause a number of negative reactions:

  • a feeling of itching and burning on the mucous membrane of the larynx after using the medicine;
  • bronchospasm;
  • hives;
  • decreased sensitivity of the mucous membrane of the throat, which occurs due to the influence of the essential oils included in the preparation;
  • dry mouth.

For difficulty breathing, inflammation of the nasopharynx, flu and even stomatitis, Ingalipt spray or aerosol is often used - the instructions for its use contain information about indications, contraindications and dosage.

Thanks to fine spraying, the drug quickly penetrates the affected tissues and kills pathogenic microorganisms that cause the disease. The dispersed formula of the drug allows you to achieve high activity of the substances.
