Pharmacological properties

Linex normalizes intestinal microflora.

One capsule of Linex contains at least 1.2 x 107 live lyophilized lactic acid bacteria: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium infantis, Enterococcus faecium. Live lactic acid bacteria are a normal component of the natural intestinal microflora and are already found in the digestive tract of a newborn child.

These bacteria are of great biochemical importance for the human body:

  • Fermentation of lactose shifts the pH to the acidic side. An acidic environment inhibits the growth of pathogenic and opportunistic bacteria and ensures optimal action of digestive enzymes;
  • participate in the synthesis of vitamins B, K, ascorbic acid, thereby increasing the body’s resistance to adverse environmental factors;
  • participate in the metabolism of bile pigments and bile acids;
  • synthesize substances with antibacterial activity;
  • increases the body's immune reactivity.

Therapeutic effect

Probiotic medications based on beneficial microorganisms restore a healthy intestinal microbiome. After oral administration, live bacteria take root in the intestine and perform their functions. The main components of Linex, lactic acid bacteria, are part of the natural microbiome. Other bacterial agents form a protective environment in the colon that prevents the spread of pathogenic microorganisms. Improves the synthesis of beneficial chemical compounds, including vitamins C and B12.

Normally, the human body is never “sterile”. The tissues necessarily contain beneficial, neutral, opportunistic and harmful microorganisms. Most often these are bacteria and fungi. Microorganisms are present in the colon from birth. First of all, these are lactobacilli. With age, the composition of the microbiome gradually changes.

The functions of the microbiome are not limited to the formation of useful substances and assistance in removing waste products. It has been proven that the functioning of the immune system depends on the composition of the microbiome. Also, many doctors associate conditions such as decreased mood, anxiety, weakness and irritability with microflora disturbances. More obvious negative consequences of microflora disorders include various dyspeptic symptoms, such as diarrhea, flatulence and abdominal pain.

Additional properties

  • The children's version of the drug improves the functioning of the body's defense systems, prevents developmental delays, eliminates chronic diarrhea and reduces the risk of intestinal complications caused by taking antibiotics.
  • Prescribing the drug to a child helps reduce the likelihood of infection of the body and the development of allergic/autoimmune disorders, including skin diseases.
  • Beneficial bacterial agents present in dosage forms protect the intestinal mucosa from negative influences and normalize the formation of feces.

Medicines in this line have complex medicinal properties.

Pharmacokinetics

Lactic acid bacteria, such as LA-5 and BB-12, act directly in the gastrointestinal tract; when taken orally, the drug is not subject to systemic absorption. Standard pharmacokinetic studies are therefore not applicable. The resistance of LA-5 and BB-12 to gastric juice and bile allows the strains to remain viable in large numbers when passing through the stomach and duodenum. Both strains attach to the intestinal lining. Like other microorganisms, they are gradually eliminated from the gastrointestinal tract with feces.

After oral administration, lactic acid bacteria act in the human digestive tract.

Indications for use

The area of use depends on the specific drug. Various medications from this line are used in therapeutic and pediatric practice to restore the intestinal microbiome. Prescription may occur if signs of disturbance in the number and composition of bacterial agents appear. The patient may complain of abnormal bowel movements, discomfort in the abdominal area, increased gas formation and other symptoms. It is recommended to first consult a gastroenterologist.

Indications for use of Linex for children

  • Restoring and maintaining a healthy microbiome in a child from the first year of life, including patients suffering from intestinal colic and other unpleasant symptoms.
  • Preventing the occurrence of infectious pathologies that cause the formation of loose stools.
  • Restoring and maintaining a healthy microbiome during and after taking antibacterial medications.
  • Normalization of the body's defense systems and prevention of the formation of atopic dermatitis.

The choice of dosage form (powder or drops) depends on ease of administration and optimal composition.
