Pharmacodynamics

Vitaprost®

Vitaprost® forte

Has an organotropic effect on the prostate gland. Reduces the degree of edema, leukocyte infiltration of the prostate gland, normalizes the secretory function of epithelial cells, increases the number of lecithin grains in the secretion of the acini, stimulates the muscle tone of the bladder. Improves microcirculation in the prostate gland by reducing thrombus formation, antiplatelet activity, and prevents the development of venule thrombosis in the prostate gland.

Vitaprost® helps normalize the parameters of the prostate gland and ejaculate. Reduce pain and discomfort, eliminate dysuric phenomena, improve copulatory function.

Based on clinical research data, it has been proven that Vitaprost® tablets moderately reduce the volume of the prostate gland. The drugs reduce the severity of obstructive and irritative symptoms in benign prostatic hyperplasia, which is manifested in an increase in the maximum and average volumetric flow rates of urine and a decrease in the volume of residual urine.

Data from clinical studies have proven that the use of the drug Vitaprost® reduces the likelihood of developing exacerbations of chronic abacterial prostatitis, does not cause changes in clinical and biochemical blood tests, and general urinalysis. The effectiveness of the use of Vitaprost® in preventing exacerbations of chronic abacterial prostatitis, according to medical researchers, is 97.5%.

Vitaprost® forte improves blood microcirculation in the wall of the bladder due to the expansion of intact vessels (the result of vasodilation), thereby helping to restore oxygen delivery to tissues experiencing hypoxia, which stimulates physiological repair. It has an anti-inflammatory effect by improving trophic processes in the bladder wall and stimulating regenerative processes. Activation of organ blood flow helps to improve the adaptive and contractile activity of the detrusor, increasing the capacity of the bladder.

A decrease in detrusor ischemia may explain the pronounced decrease in bladder hyperactivity, which continues after the end of Vitaprost® forte use.

conclusions

“Vitaprost” refers to natural drugs, it is often prescribed against inflammation of the prostate gland. Depending on the nature of the disease, different forms of release of the product may be recommended. But in any case, the drug “Vitaprost” has proven effectiveness. Tablets and suppositories are not prescribed at the same time. Oral pills may be chosen to begin treatment, and suppositories may be used to continue therapy.

Reviews show that the choice of release form should be made by a specialist. Only a doctor will be able to assess the patient’s condition, the symptoms of the disease and the need for specific treatment. Suppositories act at the destination, but are not suitable for everyone due to the specific administration. The pill is more common for men, but may be prohibited due to health conditions.

But it is worth noting that the effect on the patient’s body does not change significantly due to the form of release. That is why, if the doctor does not insist on a specific remedy, the patient can independently make a choice based on ease of use.

Active Ingredients

Vitaprost rectal suppositories are topical agents that have a beneficial effect on the condition of the prostate.
The main component of both types of drugs is the active substance - a protein extract extracted from the prostate gland of male cattle. This extract is extremely effective in relieving inflammation and reducing the size of the gland. Produces a tonic effect on the smooth muscles in the bladder, eliminates leukocytosis, normalizes urination, improves blood circulation in the pelvic organs, eliminates congestion in the prostate, has a thrombolytic effect, improves the quality of seminal fluid, increases erectile function, eliminates pain and discomfort that accompany a man during sexual intercourse or when visiting the toilet.

Suppositories are prescribed to patients suffering from diseases such as acute prostatitis or its chronic form. Among other things, the drug is used for prostate adenoma and for the treatment of benign tumors. Experts often recommend admission during the postoperative period to eliminate the risk of complications dangerous to the patient’s health.

How to make the right choice

Comparison of drugs worries many men, especially those who are faced with a similar problem for the first time. The only difference is the difference in the amount of active substance contained in the suppository. Vitaprost Forte is just a type of Vitaprost rectal suppository, which differs in the dosage of protein extract and is used to treat patients:

  • with chronic prostatitis,
  • with frequent urination,
  • with incontinence,
  • with overactive bladder.

Experts often prescribe the drug in the preoperative period and after prostate surgery. Both drugs have the same effect, but Vitaprost Forte is more often used in advanced cases of prostatitis.

Despite the existing differences in the indicators of the active substance, suppositories of both types of medicine are used identically. Suppositories are used according to the following algorithm:

  • It is allowed to use only one candle per day,
  • the most favorable time to perform the procedure is before going to bed,
  • before administering the drug to the rectal area, it is necessary to do a special cleansing enema in order to empty the intestines of fecal residues,
  • the candle is inserted into the anus, and the patient remains at rest for half an hour,
  • The treatment course lasts 10 days, but if the effect cannot be achieved, an additional dose may be prescribed; for these purposes, it is necessary to take a break for several weeks, and then repeat the procedure again.

Vitaprost and Vitaprost Forte suppositories should not be used by men under 18 years of age. Also, you should not use suppositories if you have an allergic reaction to the components of the drug. It is better to avoid using the product for people suffering from atherosclerotic diseases and people prone to epileptic seizures.

In rare cases, patients experience itchy skin, intestinal upset, urticaria, stomach bleeding, cardiac dysfunction, decreased blood pressure or seizures.

Despite the identical therapeutic effect of both remedies, each of them is of good quality and has its own advantages. The undoubted advantage of suppositories is the fact that the absorption of the active substance into the blood occurs much faster, which means that the therapeutic effect will occur in a short time, because the medicine, bypassing the digestive tract, is delivered to the prostate gland.

In the treatment of prostatitis, urologists resort to prescribing suppositories and tablets simultaneously. Complex therapy allows for a better effect on the prostate and speeds up the patient’s recovery process.
