Reviews

Daria, 35 years old

“We went to the clinic with complaints about a persistent cough in a child. The doctor recommended a new product, Linkas. I was captivated by the composition of the medicine - it contained exclusively herbal ingredients, and this is important in order not to harm the child’s body. The syrup was started on the same day. The medicine looks like a medium-consistency liquid of light brown color, the bottle is easy to use and does not take up much space, and closes tightly. The box contains an insert sheet that details the indications for use, course of treatment and dosage. I gave my son a teaspoon of syrup and already on the 5th day I noticed the result - the child began to cough much less often.”

What properties does the medicine have?

Before using Linkas for cough, you should study the instructions for use of the medicine in detail.

It has an expectorant and enveloping effect thanks to a component such as licorice root extract. The medication contains glycyrrhizin, the presence of this component promotes the activation of the secretory function of the mucosa located in the respiratory tract and enhances the activity of the ciliated epithelium located on the inner walls of the bronchi and trachea.

The drug has an anti-asthmatic, anti-spasmodic effect, thanks to the component obtained from the leaves of Adhatoda vascularis. The medicine has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties due to components obtained from the extract of the root and rhizome of Alpinia galanga.

One of the components of the syrup is a substance obtained from the extract of Onosma bracts flowers. These compounds have antifever and antipyretic effects, which improve and facilitate the patient’s breathing.

This cough syrup helps quickly restore the patient's immunity. Restoring the body's resistance to infections facilitates and accelerates the patient's recovery process.

Many patients choose this drug also because it is very convenient to use during treatment, since its use is not tied to diet. The instructions for using the drug Linkas for cough clearly indicate the cases when it is necessary to take the medication. The drug has a low cost. Due to the presence of herbal components in its composition, the drug has practically no contraindications. The only serious contraindication is individual intolerance to the components included in the medicine.

Composition and release forms of the drug

Linkas, according to the instructions for use, is a multicomponent plant-based medication, which contains more than a dozen medicinal herbs, fruits, flowers and rhizomes, including:

  • naked licorice;
  • fragrant violet:
  • medicinal hyssop;
  • marshmallow, etc.

In addition to the herbal base, the various dosage forms of Linkas include several excipients that are worth paying attention to:

  • sucrose;
  • glycerol;
  • beeswax;
  • lemon acid;
  • preservatives, flavors and other food additives;
  • aroma oils.

Despite the low content of these substances in Linkas, they can cause an allergic reaction in patients with hypersensitivity or exacerbation of concomitant pathologies.

Linkas medicines are available in the form of lozenges, syrups, granules for preparing a solution and ointments for external use.

For what cough should you take Linkas?

Although Linkas is an effective cough syrup, it should not be used as a stand-alone remedy for serious colds. It is not able to reduce body temperature or completely destroy bacterial flora. Therefore, treatment must be prescribed by a doctor. The doctor can supplement therapy with antibiotics, antivirals, antipyretics and other drugs.

Linkas is often prescribed specifically for dry coughs, in which mucus remains inside the respiratory organs and is not expelled. This is dangerous because microbial flora actively multiplies in the sputum, which increases inflammation. Under the influence of the active components of Linkas, the mucus becomes liquid, so it will be easier to cough it up.

Most often, such a cough accompanies the following diseases: infectious bronchitis, ARVI, pneumonia, tracheitis, influenza, laryngitis, asthma, smoker's bronchitis.

In order not to aggravate the patient’s condition, it is forbidden to combine Linkas with drugs that reduce the cough reflex. This threatens the development of severe complications.

During treatment you need to drink as much fluid as possible. This can be not only water, but also warm fruit drinks, compotes, and teas. For adults, the minimum daily volume of fluid should be at least 1.5-2 liters.

Therapeutic effect of the drug

Linkas contains extracts from 10 plants that have medicinal properties. It is this unique composition that determines the therapeutic effect of the drug. If you see not only herbs, but also chemicals in the list of ingredients, you should not be alarmed. They are necessary to extend shelf life and give the syrup a pleasant taste. These components do not cause any harm to health.

The main useful properties of Linkas are the following:

  1. Liquefies thick mucus that accumulates in the lungs. When the phlegm is not sticky, it will be easier to cough up. The fragrant violet is responsible for this property.
  2. Decreased tone of the smooth muscles lining the bronchioles and trachea. This will make a person feel better and avoid severe coughing attacks that injure the mucous membrane of the respiratory system.
  3. Reducing sore throat, eliminating discomfort in the chest area. Vascular adatoda acts as an anesthetic, which in addition to everything fights pathogenic flora.
  4. Relieving swelling, reducing allergic symptoms. This effect is achieved thanks to alpinia galanga.
  5. Increasing the body's immune strength and mitigating a dry, barking cough is possible thanks to licorice.
  6. Acceleration of recovery processes, which is achieved thanks to medicinal hyssop.

Such a number of beneficial effects from taking the syrup is due to its multicomponent composition. Moreover, all substances are selected in such a way that they complement each other, exerting a complex effect on the sick body. Colds go away faster when taking Linkas. Timely start of using the drug makes it possible to avoid serious complications such as pneumonia.

You should not expect lightning-fast relief. Despite the fact that the drug begins to act within a few minutes of taking it, the effect in the form of reducing inflammation can be assessed 2-4 days after the start of therapy.
