Effective drugs for the treatment of prostate adenoma

When is drug treatment indicated?

Drugs for the treatment of prostate adenoma are prescribed only for strict indications.
Conservative therapy can be the main or additional method of combating pathology. To achieve the desired results, it is necessary to take into account the characteristics of the pathology and take into account the patient’s condition. The limitations to such treatment are of no small importance.

Key indications for such therapy include the following:

  • no complications from the kidneys;
  • difficulties with performing a surgical operation;
  • recurrence of adenoma after surgery.

Typically, drugs are prescribed in the early stages of the onset of the disease, when disruptions to the functioning of the organ are minimal and there are no complications that affect the functioning of the kidneys.

Relatively recently, the main way to combat prostate adenoma was surgery. As medicine develops, only 20% of men with this diagnosis undergo surgery. The remaining patients are treated conservatively.

Medications produce results if they are combined with diet correction, exercise and massage.

To maintain the achieved results, comprehensive treatment is necessary. It takes a long time to complete and requires several courses. The following categories of medications are usually prescribed:

  • pills;
  • solutions for injections;
  • microenemas;
  • rectal suppositories.

Medicines do not help to radically get rid of adenoma. However, they give good results at stages 1-2 of the disease, when there is no kidney damage. If the growth of prostate tissue has acquired alarming proportions, it will not be possible to do without surgical intervention.

Sometimes conservative methods are chosen to preserve a man's erection or reproductive functions. In difficult situations, when prostate adenoma is accompanied by concomitant disorders, the doctor cannot prescribe surgery.

The development of prostate adenoma is associated with hormonal balance. This parameter can be adjusted using special medications. They act at the cellular level and help quickly achieve the desired results.

Medicines block adrenergic receptors. This helps reduce the tone of the smooth muscles of the bladder. The drugs also reduce spasm of the cervix of this organ. Due to this, urination is normalized.

Thanks to the use of adrenergic blockers to combat adenoma, it is possible to improve the rate of urine excretion and ensure complete emptying of the bladder. As a result, the size of the organ decreases.

Properly selected products that are used according to the scheme do not affect the balance of a man’s hormones. The first results can be obtained within a few weeks after the start of therapy. In such a situation, you need to undergo a full course of treatment.

If there are no noticeable results within 3 months, there is no further need to use such medications. Even long-term use of drugs from this category will not give the desired results. They will only lead to undesirable health consequences.

The category of such drugs for prostate adenoma includes many drugs. Each of them has certain advantages and disadvantages. The doctor must choose a specific remedy. The dosage and regimen of use of the substance is also determined by the urologist.

The most effective medications for the treatment of prostate adenoma include the following:

  1. Prazosin. The substance is used to relax muscles and increase the rate of urine excretion. Thanks to its use, you can achieve good results in 80% of cases. The drug rarely causes undesirable health effects.
  2. Omnic. This substance can be used for prostate adenoma even in older people. The drug does not affect blood pressure parameters as much as other medications.
  3. Dalfaz. This is another effective medicine that reduces the resistance of the prostate to the flow of urine. The substance can be used even against the background of installing a catheter in the bladder for acute urination problems.

The listed substances help eliminate the symptoms that are characteristic of adenoma. However, they cannot stop the development of tumor formation or lead to its reduction. Typically, substances are used as part of a combination treatment or when preparing a person for surgery.

Such drugs activate the resorption of adenoma. In addition, they reduce the severity of symptoms that accompany adenoma. To achieve noticeable results, it is necessary to undergo treatment for at least six months.

Drug treatment of adenoma reduces the level of dihydrotestosterone in the blood. This male hormone is actively involved in the development of prostate hyperplasia. Therefore, medications help eliminate the causes of the disease and also successfully cope with its symptoms.

After 3 months of systematic use of the substance, urine output is normalized and bladder function improves. The drugs are reliable prevention of the development of negative consequences of adenoma. Therefore, even in advanced cases of the disease, there may be no need for surgical intervention.

For therapy to bring results, you need to take such medications for at least 6 months. Before starting treatment, the doctor must prescribe a detailed examination. This will help minimize the likelihood of adverse reactions.

The most effective remedy for prostate adenoma in this category is sonoride duo. Thanks to the use of the substance, it is possible to obtain a quick and noticeable effect. It is more pronounced than with monotherapy.

With the help of the substance it is possible to cope with the inflammatory process and stop the development of hyperplasia. With prolonged use of the drug, it is possible to cope with the symptoms of the disease and improve the patient's condition.

Not all men can use the medicine, since it has many restrictions on its use. Sonoride duo is not used in the following situations:

  • impaired renal function - identified organ failure, the presence of stones or other diseases;
  • postural hypertension;
  • glucose-galactose malabsorption;
  • liver failure;
  • dysfunction of the bladder associated with the influence of pathogenic microorganisms.

After using the substance, there is a risk of side effects. These include chronic headaches, itching, and allergies. Also, the medicine can provoke fainting, tachycardia, and runny nose.

However, combination treatment is still more effective than monotherapy.

Herbal remedies

The main advantage of such drugs is the absence of contraindications and adverse reactions. These medications contain exclusively natural substances that have a mild effect on the prostate.

The list of medications for prostate adenoma includes the following:

  1. Adenostop. The activity of the drug is aimed at stopping the enlargement of prostate tissue. Thanks to the use of the substance, it is possible to reduce the size of the adenoma. The active component of the product is cocklebur. This plant has an antibacterial effect and copes with swelling.
  2. Peponen. The active substance of the medicine is pumpkin seed oil. It is produced in the form of capsules. The drug reduces the severity of pain, which often accompanies prostate adenoma.
  3. Prostagut forte. The medicine contains plant extracts - creeping palm and nettle roots. With the help of the substance it is possible to cope with swelling, stop the inflammatory process, and eliminate pain. The medicine also strengthens the immune system. It is often used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes.
  4. Prostamol uno. It is made from the fruits of the finely serrated sabal. The medicine has antiandrogenic properties, relieves inflammation and has an analgesic effect. With its help, it is possible to strengthen blood vessels and normalize their condition.
  5. Tykveol. The medicine is one of the most effective herbal remedies for adenoma. It improves the condition of a man with prostate adenoma. The use of the substance eliminates the symptoms of the disease and reduces the size of the tumor.

Other drugs

To cope with abnormal changes in the tissues of the prostate and urinary tract, doctors use symptomatic drugs that do not directly affect the affected organ. To eliminate spasms of the urethra and bladder, antispasmodics are used. Anticholinergics are also actively used.

The most effective are belladonna derivatives. These include atropine, which is produced in injections or drops. Suppositories containing belladonna are no less effective. Platiphylline has a less active effect.

These medications help relieve pain and tension in the bladder muscles. They should be prescribed by a urologist in a limited dosage. At stage 2-3 of the pathology, atony of muscle tissue occurs.

Loop diuretics are used to reduce swelling of affected tissues. Furosemide falls into this category. It is strictly prohibited to use substances that irritate the urinary organs.

If there is a high risk of inflammatory damage to the bladder or kidneys, experts prescribe antibacterial drugs. Such medications cope well with the symptoms of prostatitis, which often complements the development of adenoma.

The most effective antibiotics include the following:

  • Cephalosporins – cefixime, cefaclor;
  • Fluoroquinolones – ofloxacin, norfloxacin;
  • Aminoglycosides – gentamicin.

In difficult cases with the development of inflammation, it is necessary to combine antibacterial agents with anti-inflammatory drugs. It is worth taking into account the presence of symptoms of kidney failure. If a chronic form of the pathology is observed, tetracyclines and aminoglycosides should not be used. These categories of drugs produce a toxic effect on the renal parenchyma.

Medicines for the treatment of prostate adenoma in men

To activate the body's immune system, a man is prescribed vitamin complexes. They improve the restoration of metabolic processes in gland tissues, reduce oxidation and stimulate blood circulation. However, symptomatic therapy should not replace specific treatment of the pathology.

The essence of drug treatment

Drug therapy for prostate cancer is carried out in a complex manner; during treatment, many tasks are set, each of which is solved by a separate medication. Thus, some drugs destroy cancer cells, others alleviate the symptoms of oncology, eliminate the cause of the disease, reduce the growth of tumors, etc.

In the early stages of prostate cancer, hormonal therapy is used, and as metastases appear, chemotherapy is prescribed. Drug treatment is not used independently; its use is effective in combination with radiation therapy and surgery.

In advanced stages of cancer, the goal of therapy is to manage the cancer, not cure it. Treatment allows you to maximize the patient’s life expectancy and prevent further development of metastases. In addition, symptomatic medications are prescribed to alleviate the patient’s condition, relieve pain and swelling.

Drug therapy

  • reducing tumor pressure on the urethra;
  • normalization of urination;
  • elimination of swelling and inflammation;
  • increasing local immunity;
  • prevention of kidney diseases.

To definitely get rid of BPH, you need to consult an andrologist or urologist. Only a doctor is able to develop appropriate treatment tactics. Treatment with drugs is recommended to be combined with hardware procedures, diet and prostate massage.

Modern medicine has developed many effective medications for the treatment of prostatitis. Each drug must be taken correctly, then you will be able to get rid of the adenoma in a short time. Medicines are selected not only to relieve unpleasant symptoms, but also based on their ability to influence atypical cells.

Alpha blockers

It is easy to treat adenoma in the early stages - atypical cells are amenable to therapeutic effects. Alpha blockers help relieve pain when urinating and reduce the tone of the bladder walls. By taking medications of this group, the normal outflow of urine is restored with weak and intermittent pressure.

Doctors prefer to use adrenergic blockers in treatment:

  • Omnic Okas reduces painful spasms during urination and restores bladder function. Available in 400 mg capsules. The color of the capsules is yellow-green. It is better to drink one capsule once a day before meals. The drug has a number of side effects - nausea with vomiting, diarrhea, headaches with dizziness and itching of the upper layers of the dermis. When the first signs of discomfort appear, you should warn your doctor and replace it with a drug with a similar effect. When taking the capsules, a man sleeps peacefully at night, and trips to the toilet are reduced.
  • Terazosin is available in tablet form. The daily dosage needs to be increased daily. The active substances have a dilating effect on veins and other vessels, which prevents blood stagnation in the pelvic organs.
  • Alfuzosin is a suitable remedy for relieving unpleasant symptoms. Medicine for prostatitis is taken in a course of 2-3 weeks. 1 tablet contains 5-10 mg of active substances. Take 1 tablet of 10 mg 1 time per day or 5 mg 2 times a day.

Anticholinergics

In the treatment of pathology, anticholinergics are prescribed together with adrenergic blockers. The active substance blocks the high activity of acetylcholine against the smooth walls of the bladder. The drugs help reduce the activity of the organ, which will reduce the frequency of urges. Taking medications from the described group helps regulate bladder function.

According to doctors, the following remedies are recognized as the best:

  • Prostatilen is a rectal suppository administered through the anus once a day - preferably before bed. Active substances relieve swelling and destroy pathogenic microflora, which prevents the development of inflammation. The course of treatment should not exceed 1-2 weeks. Then you need to replace it with another medicine.
  • Atropine is a drug produced by injection. One of the active ingredients is belladonna. The herb combats painful spasms during urination. The effect of muscle tension and swelling of soft tissues is reduced. Injections are administered twice a day - morning and evening. The dosage is calculated individually.

Medicine for prostatitis containing hormones is prescribed in the presence of certain complications in the form of pus discharge with disturbances in the functioning of the endocrine system, which is expressed by hormonal imbalance. To restore the body, it is necessary to take 5-alpha reductase inhibitors over a long period of time.

The pharmacy contains a list of drugs in this group. More often used in treatment:

  • Oxyprogesterone is available in injections for intramuscular administration. The substance restores hormonal balance in the prostate gland. The course should not exceed 5 days, 1 injection per day. Changes are observed on the second day. If there is no improvement, another drug is administered.
  • Finasteride blocks the transition of testosterone to its active form, preventing the growth of the endometrium. You need to take the drug for up to 6 months. The doctor calculates the dose individually, taking into account several parameters - age, health and tumor size.

Prostate adenoma can be cured with medications at an early stage of formation. Patients are more often inclined to use drugs based on natural raw materials. Components from medicinal herbs have a minimal set of contraindications and side effects. This does not reduce the therapeutic effect. Sometimes recovery occurs faster than from an analogue with synthetic raw materials. Improvement appears on the 4-5th day of use.

The list of such drugs is headed by:

  • Raveron is sold in pharmacies in the form of tablets and suspensions. The therapeutic effect is higher at the early stage of the pathology; at later stages of development, improvement occurs later or is absent. The composition consists of natural ingredients that block the growth of atypical cells. The daily norm and course are prescribed individually.
  • Speman is the best medicine out of 9 active ingredients. Available in tablets that are taken orally. The only contraindication for taking the drug is an allergic reaction to the incoming components. You need to drink 2-3 times a day, 2 tablets. The reception period is calculated individually.

If the adenoma is large, it puts pressure on the urinary duct, which causes discomfort when going to the toilet. To relieve pain spasms, the patient is prescribed antispasmodics. The inflamed prostate also needs to be numbed, here doctors use muscle relaxants. Active substances reduce tone and internal discomfort in the organ.

For administration, the doctor may use the following medications:

  • Baclofen soothes the inflamed prostate gland, reducing the size of the tumor. The drug is available in tablets. The course of treatment begins with 5 mg 3 times a day. The daily dose is gradually increased to 10 mg. The duration of treatment is 1-2 weeks.
  • Buscopan - in the form of suppositories and tablets. Suppositories are inserted into the rectum 1-2 times a day. Before the appointment, the doctor takes into account the patient’s medical indicators and the degree of development of the pathology. The drug has a number of contraindications that need to be taken into account before taking it. Treatment lasts 2 weeks.

Doctors recommend the following medications:

  • Cycloferon is taken orally, 1-2 tablets. The course of treatment lasts 14-21 days.
  • Polyoxidonium stimulates the immune system, which increases the chance of a full recovery. The drug has a number of contraindications, so before prescribing, doctors carefully study the test results and the patient’s well-being.

In the treatment of adenoma, drugs with universal action are sometimes used. The tablets have anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. They are able to relieve swelling and start the process of restoration of damaged areas of the organ. Modern drugs start the healing process and normal functioning of the prostate.

Pharmacies have inexpensive medicines that are very helpful in treating pathology. The most popular are:

  • Soniride Duo contains alpha-blockers and 5-alpha-reductase blockers. When taken orally, it blocks the transition of testosterone to its active form - dihydrotestosterone. The most effective remedy in the treatment of prostate cancer, as it prevents the proliferation of atypical cells. Therefore, doctors often use this remedy in the fight against adenoma. Sold in tablets and capsules. The course lasts 1 month.
  • Prostamol Uno stimulates the regeneration of damaged tissues and restores the functional properties of the prostate gland. The active substances are extracts of creeping palm and dwarf palm. Drink 1 capsule per day for 3-6 months.

With age, men's immunity decreases, which leads to the development of many chronic diseases. Prostate adenoma develops rapidly, which requires urgent medical attention. The choice of medication is complicated by age and the risk of possible complications. Often such patients take other medications at the same time, so it is worth considering the interaction of different drugs.

For such patients, drugs can be used:

  • Impaza contains only plant components. A contraindication is individual intolerance to certain active ingredients of the drug. The daily norm is 1 tablet. The course does not exceed 14 days.
  • Afala belongs to homeopathy. It is considered the safest remedy in the treatment of hyperplasia. The tablets need to be dissolved. Helps improve urine flow and increases blood supply to the prostate. The active ingredients relieve inflammation and stimulate the functioning of the organ.

What are the most effective and widely used tablets for prostate adenoma? The list is topped by alpha1-adrenergic receptor blockers. In addition, this list includes 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, vitamins and minerals.

The complex of drug therapy includes not only drugs. For prostate adenoma, conservative treatment can be supplemented with biologically active additives - dietary supplements, which enhance the therapeutic effect of drugs and ensure a speedy recovery. Some of them contain zinc, which is directly involved in spermatogenesis and testosterone synthesis, as well as plant phytosterols, which normalize urination.

These drugs for the treatment of prostatitis and prostate adenoma provide relaxation of the smooth muscles of the urinary system and improve the process of urine discharge.

Effective drugs for prevention

It is quite popular to prevent prostatitis in men with medications. Typically, these preparations contain natural substances and bioactive components that are readily available for home use. It is necessary to first undergo an examination by a specialist who can correctly assess the clinical situation and select the necessary medications. The most effective preventive agents are drugs from several pharmaceutical groups. Firstly, these are tablets that have an analgesic effect. Such remedies will help eliminate pain symptoms in the perineum, pubis and groin.

Secondly, prevention of exacerbation in the chronic prostatic form involves taking anti-inflammatory drugs that relieve swelling of tissues affected by inflammation and improve blood circulation. In addition, it is recommended to use drugs in the form of rectal suppositories to prevent prostatitis. They have a powerful local effect and relieve inflammation. According to doctors, suppositories are considered a very effective remedy for inflammation of the prostate. An effective way to prevent exacerbation of pathology is to take antimicrobial and antibacterial drugs, which are prescribed to patients with prostatitis of an infectious, bacterial or viral nature.

To avoid the development or recurrence of inflammatory pathology, men need to strengthen their immune defense, which will provide the body with resistance to external aggressive influences. It is also useful to take bioactive supplements, which improve overall well-being without causing adverse reactions or having contraindications. Typically, the prevention of prostatitis in men with medications is aimed at preventing relapse of the inflammatory process. In fact, during the period of taking these drugs, both therapeutic and preventive effects are carried out simultaneously.

Medicines for prostate adenoma: list of inhibitors

Inhibitors are also prescribed to reduce the severity of symptoms characteristic of prostate adenoma.

The use of inhibitors may be associated with the development of quite a large number of side effects:

  • erectile dysfunction;
  • decreased libido;
  • deterioration in quality and reduction in sperm volume.

After stopping the use of inhibitors, the normal state of the male body is restored.

Severe disease and a significant increase in prostate size most often require the use of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. The hormonal content in their composition helps to stop the growth of the prostate gland. However, a visible effect and elimination of symptoms is achieved only with sufficiently long-term use of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. You need to understand that we are talking about stopping growth, and not about returning to the previous size of the prostate.

The following side effects may occur when taking these medications:

  • nausea;
  • vomit;
  • migraine;
  • retrograde ejaculation.

The most common 5-alpha reductase inhibitors in the treatment of prostate adenoma include: Avodart, Proscar, Propecia.

Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors are able to restore the patient’s reproductive function and also slow down the symptoms of prostate adenoma development.

There are strict contraindications to the use of drugs of this class: they are incompatible with alpha blockers and drugs for the treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The most widely used phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors, which are used in patients with prostate adenoma: Levitra, Viagra, Cialis.

Patients with prostate adenoma, when a bacterial infection is associated, are prescribed antibacterial therapy, the primary task of which is to stop the inflammatory process. Elimination of pathogenic agents that provoke the development of the inflammatory process is only possible with antimicrobial agents.

The most effective antibiotics for prostate adenoma:

  • cephalosporins;
  • fluoroquinolones;
  • macrolides;
  • penicillins;
  • tetracyclines.

In addition, antibacterial therapy can achieve significant improvement in urodynamics.

The highest results in the treatment of prostate adenoma are achieved with the help of combination drug therapy, which involves the use of drugs of various classes. For example, when alpha blockers are combined with 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. However, this method of treatment has one significant drawback - when using a combination of these drugs, the side effects of each of them increase.

Thanks to the action of the drugs, the causes that provoked the development of the prostate are eliminated, and the tumor itself is reduced. The course of treatment with combined-action medications should be long-term; the severity of symptoms and improvement in well-being decreases only a few months after starting to take the medications.

The use of combined medications is contraindicated for diseases of the liver, kidneys, as well as serious pathologies of the bladder.

Medications

It is impossible to answer the question of which drug is the best. Doctors highlight the following list of medications that can be used to reduce tumor lesions in men:

  • adrenergic receptor inhibitors;
  • 5-alpha reductase blockers;
  • antibiotics;
  • medications that change the level of male sex hormones;
  • herbal preparations.

The choice of any medications from this list is made only by a urologist based on the patient’s indications and contraindications, as well as the severity of the clinical symptoms of the disease.

Antibacterial agents

Antibiotics should be taken if a man experiences symptoms of a bacterial infection. This complication is very common in men in advanced cases of prostate adenoma against the background of a pronounced delay in the excretion of prostatic secretions or narrowing of the urinary tract.

Among antibacterial agents, the most popular are medications from the group of cephalosporins, Azithromycin and Amoxiclav. They have a wide spectrum of action and are able to destroy the most common types of bacterial microorganisms.

If possible, urine or prostatic secretion is cultured on special microbiological media, which allows not only to determine the specific type of bacteria, but also their sensitivity to individual antibacterial agents, which can increase the effectiveness of therapy.

With the rational use of antibiotics, the bacterial infection disappears within 5-7 days, the man experiences a disappearance of the inflammatory process and swelling, as well as an improvement in urodynamics, which has a positive effect on his overall well-being.

Is it possible to completely cure adenoma with medications?

The prognosis for treating BPH with medications depends on many factors:

  • reasons for the proliferation of glandular tissue;
  • age;
  • timeliness of started therapy;
  • the size of the hypertrophied organ.

Therapy is aimed at stabilizing hormonal levels, reducing pancreatic volume and normalizing urination. With first-degree adenoma, most manifestations of the disease can be eliminated. But the risk of re-proliferation of the gland remains, so men with BPH should be examined by an andrologist once every six months. Timely therapy reduces the risk of complications - acute urinary retention, renal failure.

Medicine is constantly evolving. New drugs are appearing in pharmacology. Prostate adenoma causes certain discomfort in a man’s life, which affects the further functioning of the prostate and urinary system. Timely treatment of the disease helps to completely get rid of unpleasant symptoms and tumors.

Doctors consider the most effective and popular means in the treatment of hyperplasia:

  • Indigal is a universal remedy from homeopathic medicine. Contains Brussels sprout extract and green tea extract. The drug is considered safe and can be taken together with other medications. The active substances actively fight the growth of the node, blocking the degeneration of testosterone into its active form. The course is designed for 3-6 months, 2 capsules per day.
  • Afalase - lozenges. The substance eliminates the effects of stagnation of urine and excess fluid in soft tissues. The drug relieves pain and inflammation in the organ, restores hormonal balance, and increases sperm concentration. Take 1 tablet 3 times a day for 2 weeks.
  • Gentamicin is a remedy in the fight against hyperplasia. Can be used as an ointment or prepared a special solution for oral administration. The doctor selects the dosage for each patient, taking into account individual characteristics. Reception cannot be continued for longer than 10 days. There are contraindications that should be taken into account during treatment.
  • Diclofenac - suppositories, inserted into the rectum. Relieves inflammation in the prostate and restores organ function. Up to 2 candles are allowed per day. Treatment lasts 1 week. Cannot be used in case of renal failure.
  • Cernilton is an American remedy for the treatment of hyperplasia. Prescribed at all stages of the tumor. Effectively fights inflammatory processes in the prostate, relieves swelling of soft tissues, painful spasms, helps normalize urination and increases erectile function. It is considered one of the most effective drugs.

Prostate adenoma brings discomfort to a man’s life, which affects his psychological and physical condition. It also affects performance and normal interaction with others. The disease needs to be treated. To eliminate unpleasant symptoms in a short time, you need to take the medications recommended by doctors in a precisely calculated dosage. You cannot prescribe medications on your own - this will worsen the patient’s well-being. Following your doctor's recommendations will speed up the healing process.

Alpha blockers are a class of drugs that lower blood pressure. In case of prostate adenoma, the use of alpha blockers improves blood supply and eliminates blood stagnation in the pelvic organs, as a result of which inflammatory processes develop. The use of drugs in this group helps improve the urination process.

List of the most popular alpha blockers used in drug therapy for prostate adenoma:

  • Kadura is a drug containing doxazosin mesylate. Its use may be accompanied by side effects such as: nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal disturbances, allergic reaction and muscle weakness;
  • Hytrin is a drug prescribed for prostate adenoma and cardiovascular diseases;
  • Uroxatral is a drug for emergency relief of symptoms of prostate adenoma, in particular, pain during urination and swelling of the genital organs;
  • Flamax is a drug with ketoprofen that provides quick and effective pain relief.

In addition to the fact that all alpha blockers change blood pressure, their use may be accompanied by the following side effects:

  • dizziness;
  • disruption of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • feeling of nasal congestion.

Drugs at the experimental stage

The most promising direction in the fight against prostate cancer is cancer vaccination - developed by Israeli doctors. The vaccine is based on the patient's own blood. After its synthetic processing and administration, activation of the immune system is observed.

Experts have found that the vaccine can stop metastasis in 77% of patients. About 50% of patients during the study noted a decrease in tumor. The ability to prolong the life of a cancer patient by several years is declared. The methodology is being tested in Germany and the USA. There is no date yet for when the vaccine will become publicly available, but it usually takes 10–15 years from the time of clinical trials to the sale of the drug.

Symptoms of prostate adenoma

Prostate adenoma can be suspected when a man develops the following symptoms, the most typical for this disease:

  • increased urge to urinate;
  • the need to tense the abdominal muscles to urinate;
  • the presence of painful sensations, burning, sluggish stream of urine;
  • discomfort and insufficient emptying of the bladder;
  • increasing the duration of the urination process.

Prostate adenoma leads not only to a decrease in a man’s quality of life, but also to acute urinary retention, which requires the use of surgical treatment methods. To avoid surgery, many patients use special medications to treat prostate adenoma, eliminating symptoms and restoring normal prostate function.

Treatment of this disease is individual for each patient, therefore drugs for the treatment of prostate adenoma, their dosage and duration of use should be prescribed by the attending physician. Taking medications for prostatitis and prostate adenoma on your own can be not only ineffective, but also dangerous.

Due to the presence of some “personal” chronic diseases in older men, drugs for the treatment of prostate adenoma in older people should be selected taking into account concomitant pathologies.

Use of medications

Medicines for prostate adenoma in men are not used in all patients. There are certain indications and contraindications for medications, which make it possible to select those patients for whom such treatment will be most effective and safe.

The indications include the following factors:

  • the initial stages of the development of BPH, not characterized by the development of organic changes in the organs of the urinary system;
  • the impossibility of performing surgical interventions, including their minimally invasive options;
  • recurrence of adenoma after operations.

In addition, the attending physician must take into account contraindications to drug treatment:

  • significant disturbance of bladder emptying;
  • there are serious disorders of the urination process, including acute urinary retention;
  • the appearance of blood in the urine (hematuria);
  • urolithiasis with different localization of stones.

If any contraindications are identified, medications for prostate hyperplasia are not used. In these cases, preference should be given to early minimally invasive surgical interventions aimed at excision of prostate adenoma.

Modern operations do not require long-term hospitalization for men and are characterized by a high level of safety.

Main groups of drugs and their mechanism of action

The first thing worth saying about prostate adenoma is that it cannot be neglected. If you feel pain during urination, then quickly go to the urology department to conduct an examination and identify the disease, because the cause of this could be any other inflammation, the occurrence of kidney stones. In advanced cases, prostatitis develops into a cancerous tumor, and this cannot be cured with simple medications. There is no need to put off visiting your doctor.

As for medications, they are all divided into main groups:

  1. With androgens - this active substance is included in many medications for prostatitis and helps improve detrusor tone, which significantly improves urination.
  2. With progesterones - doctors call them antiandrogens. The use of drugs in this group helps to reduce the adenoma and relieve pain for the patient. It is recommended to combine them with special procedures: prostate massage, electrophoresis, phonophoresis.
  3. Anti-inflammatory drugs for prostatitis based on herbs. Although they are not considered the most effective, they have a powerful antiseptic effect. Among the herbs in the composition, it is especially worth noting sage, coltsfoot, chamomile, dill, parsley, and nettle.

List of the best drugs for prostatitis and prostate adenoma

From the proposed drug options, you can choose the most suitable one, however, only your attending physician can tell you how to cure prostate adenoma without surgery quickly and effectively. It is important to remember that the course of treatment should consist of both medication and other procedures to promote a speedy recovery of the patient. A striking example is massage and physiotherapy.

Rectal suppositories

Suppositories for the treatment of prostatitis and prostate adenoma can be called the most effective. They have a wide physical effect and have the most positive effect on the affected area. When you come to the pharmacy, it’s easy to get confused, because the range of rectal suppositories is so large that choosing a drug will be difficult. However, doctors helped by identifying among the drugs more effective, often prescribed:

  • Ichthyol suppositories for prostatitis. They improve blood circulation and have an antiseptic and anesthetic effect. They are often prescribed in a course with pills or physical therapy. The candles do not have a very pleasant smell, but this does not affect the effect on your skin. This drug has no contraindications.
  • Suppositories with propolis. They relieve pain during urination and have an anti-inflammatory effect. A huge advantage is the price of such candles - they are budget-friendly. In addition, the drug does not cause any side effects, so it can be used as a prophylactic agent.
  • "Prostatilen." These suppositories with indomethacin help relieve swelling and inflammation, while simultaneously normalizing the function of the prostate gland. Suitable for treatment of advanced stages.
  • "Diclofenac". Popular suppositories for the treatment of prostatitis. They are used in the treatment of complex cases of prostatitis and have an effective anti-inflammatory effect. However, a number of contraindications prevent every patient from using this drug.

Pills

Like suppositories, tablets are divided into groups according to their actions. Only a urologist should prescribe drug treatment to you after an examination, which will determine how to treat prostate adenoma. Buying and taking medications without a prescription is unlikely to have a positive effect on a speedy recovery. What drugs for prostatitis are most often prescribed by doctors:

  • Anti-inflammatory - prescribed for the acute form of adenoma, for pain during urination. “Vitaprost”, “Wobenzym”, “Cernilton” - all these drugs help to quickly cure prostatitis and prevent the disease from becoming chronic.
  • Antispasmodics - this group of tablets relieves spasms and relaxes muscles, which greatly improves blood circulation. In some cases, doctors prescribe No-shpa, and spasms are quickly relieved by Omnix, Flomax, Tamsulosin, Urorek, Silodosin.
  • Antibiotics - if prostate adenoma is caused by an infectious lesion of the gland and bacteria that are the causative agent of the disease are found, tablets of this group are prescribed. Only the doctor conducting the examination can determine which antibiotic for prostatitis is suitable for you. Antibiotics (for example, Amoxiclav) are taken in a course together with rectal medications.

Injections

Modern medicine also offers injectable drugs for the treatment of prostate adenoma, which are aimed at strengthening the patient’s immunity. Among them, “Timalin”, “Tactivin”, “Pyrogenal”, “Methyluracil” stand out. All of them are effective drugs that improve regenerative processes. Injections are indicated as conservative treatment or prophylaxis; they protect the prostate gland from viruses. Only a doctor can prescribe the dosage, as there are side effects.

Instillations

The instillation method is one of the options for getting rid of the disease, which is based on the introduction of a drug for the treatment of prostate adenoma and prostatitis into the affected area. This method of treatment is prescribed in order to completely remove bacteria that contribute to the progression of prostate inflammation from the urinary canal. The medicine used is cycloferon liniment, antiseptics, and ozonated solutions.

The instillation procedure must be carried out strictly in the doctor’s treatment room. Only he will be able to select the correct solution, insert the catheter into the urethra efficiently and perform all the necessary manipulations to keep the solution inside. Depending on the stage of the disease, the course of instillation can last from 1 to 3 months, 2-4 times a week.

Effective herbal remedies

In the complex treatment of prostatitis, herbal remedies are also often used. For example, “LIKOPROFIT®” is a complex of natural ingredients. Its components selectively accumulate in prostate tissues, reduce the manifestations of inflammation, help strengthen protective functions, protect cells from damage by free radicals and control the process of excessive growth of prostate tissue. Due to the complex and balanced composition, difficulties associated with urination are eliminated and pain is alleviated. The components of the complex, against the background of standard therapy, effectively influence the main symptoms of chronic prostatitis, help improve urination: they reduce the frequency of urination and increase the stream of urine, improve well-being and have a restorative effect in patients with chronic prostatitis.

While searching for effective medications for the treatment of prostate adenoma and prostatitis, you will more than once come across advertisements for traditional herbal remedies that supposedly can save you from this disease. It is worth noting that they are not medications, but rather dietary supplements that must be taken for preventive purposes. The composition contains plant extracts that have a positive effect on the condition and functioning of the prostate gland, but in the case of the acute stage of the disease, phytotherapeutic agents are not able to cure.

If you often deal with prostate adenoma, your doctor will be able to prescribe you prophylactic medications that can reduce the risk of new inflammation. Some of the most popular are “Stamax” or “Prostamol”. Many men have already tried their effect on themselves, they leave only positive reviews. Medicines do an excellent job of treating inflammatory processes, blocking them and allowing the prostate gland to function as it should.
