The medicine has a pronounced venotonic and decongestant effect, and also quickly relieves the inflammatory process.

The active substance reduces the permeability of capillaries and blood vessels. Escin stimulates the activity of phospholipase A2 and helps maintain the adenosine triphosphoric acid reserve in cells. The medication also prevents the breakdown of proteoglycans in the vascular wall due to inhibition of the activity of lysosomal enzymes. After completing the course of therapy, blood stagnation in the venous bed is eliminated or minimized, swelling in the legs and pain when walking or at rest go away.

The remedy is no less effective for hematomas formed as a result of injuries and after injections.

Venitan

pharmachologic effect

Venotonic drug of plant origin for external use.

Aescin is contained in the seeds of horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum L., semen). It is a mixture of triterpene saponins. Escin has an anti-inflammatory effect mainly in the initial phase of the inflammatory reaction, “thickening” the walls of the capillaries and thus reducing their permeability, which is increased during inflammation. Escin also has a positive effect on fragility of capillary walls and increases the tone of the venous walls when it weakens. All this leads to a decrease in stagnation in the venous bed and accumulation of fluid in the tissues, preventing the appearance of edema.

Pharmacokinetics

In accordance with the International Convention (EMEAHMPWG11/99), when conducting clinical trials of herbal products, an isolated study of pharmacokinetic parameters is not required.

No targeted research has been conducted on the interaction of Venitan with other drugs.

Aescin is a component that is found in sufficient quantities in horse chestnut seeds. With its systematic use, there is a significant reduction in venous edema in the lower extremities, the intensity of the inflammatory reaction, the development of which is associated with an increase in the permeability of membranes and capillaries, decreases.

The action of escin is aimed at inhibiting enzymes that provoke the development of an inflammatory reaction (inflammatory mediators), strengthening vascular walls, increasing their tone and increasing resistance to environmental factors.

If the above manifestations develop, you should stop using the drug and seek help from a specialist.

Drug interactions have not been studied. However, it is not recommended to use Venitan Forte in combination with other topical medications.

Reviews

Valery, 43 years old, Voronezh: “After injury and removal of part of the superficial veins, regular use of venotonics is recommended. Among all the variety of these drugs, I settled on Venitan. Thanks to the presence of horse chestnut extract, the product copes well with pain. The only drawback of the medication is that it is poorly absorbed. If you treat your feet at night, then all your laundry will be stained with grease. But I found a solution: I apply the product 2-3 hours before going to bed.”

Milana, 32 years old, Moscow: “I applied this product to eliminate hematoma and cyanosis after injections. The fact is that I was forced to undergo long-term treatment using IVs and injections, as a result of which swelling began to appear on my hands. But I began to apply the cream 2-3 times a day to the affected areas. After just 4 days, the condition improved, the cyanosis began to subside, and so did the swelling.”

Igor, 62 years old, Vladivostok: “It is not so easy to cure varicose veins, because the disease can go away for a while and then return again. For preventative purposes, I decided to apply the gel, but it did not help at all. A few years later, varicose veins made themselves felt again. And although the product is inexpensive, it’s a pity for the time wasted. Now I use Phytoven gel, after which neither swelling, nor heaviness, nor cyanosis occur.”

Margarita, 24 years old, St. Petersburg: “During pregnancy, varicose veins of the legs were diagnosed. Taking many medications is prohibited at this time, so we decided to fight the symptoms of the disease with the help of topical products. I applied the gel 2 times a day to the affected areas, and also wore tight stockings. After just 2 weeks, the heaviness in the limbs went away, the pain and cyanosis decreased. After the birth, I began to thoroughly solve the problem, but the child had to be switched to artificial nutrition.”

Alena, 38 years old, Penza: “A few months ago I discovered that by the end of the day there was severe heaviness in my legs, sometimes the condition is accompanied by swelling. At first I didn’t attach any importance to these symptoms. But after 2 weeks there was severe pain. I decided to see a doctor, he prescribed the drug in the form of a gel. The product is effective because after 4-5 days, the symptoms began to go away, and the disease no longer progressed. I recommend the medication to anyone who cannot cope with varicose veins for a long time. In addition, the ointment copes well with scars and cicatrices, making them less visible.”
