Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics
Nootropic drug. Central anticholinergic stimulant, which contains 40.5% metabolically protected choline. Metabolic protection promotes the release of choline in the brain. Provides the synthesis of acetylcholine and phosphatidylcholine in neuronal membranes, improves blood flow and enhances metabolic processes in the central nervous system, activates the reticular formation. Increases the linear speed of blood flow on the side of the traumatic brain injury, promotes the normalization of the spatio-temporal characteristics of spontaneous bioelectrical activity of the brain, regression of focal neurological symptoms and restoration of consciousness; has a positive effect on the cognitive and behavioral reactions of patients with vascular diseases of the brain (dyscirculatory encephalopathy and residual effects of cerebrovascular accident). It has a preventive and corrective effect on the pathogenetic factors of involutional psychoorganic syndrome, changes the phospholipid composition of neuronal membranes and reduces cholinergic activity. Stimulates the dose-dependent release of acetylcholine under physiological conditions; participating in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine (membrane phospholipid), improves synaptic transmission, plasticity of neuronal membranes, and receptor function. Does not affect the reproductive cycle and does not have a teratogenic or mutagenic effect.
Pharmacokinetics
Easily penetrates the blood-brain barrier, 85% is excreted by the lungs in the form of carbon dioxide, the rest (15%) is excreted by the kidneys and intestines.

special instructions
When treating older people, no dosage adjustment of Cereton is required - patients are prescribed a standard dose.
If a patient has severe renal or liver failure, this nootropic drug must be prescribed with extreme caution. The medicine is taken with regular medical supervision.
Choline alfoscerate is not able to influence psychomotor function, so during the treatment period the patient can drive vehicles and play sports.
Doctors note that while taking this anticholinergic stimulant you should not drink alcoholic beverages. Interaction with ethanol can negatively affect the patient's condition. On the one hand, the effect of the medication can be neutralized, so there will be no medicinal effect. On the other hand, the risk of developing adverse reactions increases.
During the period of gestation, women are not prescribed Cereton injections, since the active substance can negatively affect the health and development of the fetus.
Treatment is not recommended during breastfeeding, since a small amount of the medication can pass into the mother's milk and enter the baby's body. If it is impossible to postpone therapy, then lactation is recommended to be interrupted.
Children and adolescents between 0 and 18 years of age should not take choline alfoscerate. This is explained by the fact that there is no medical data on the effect of this drug on the child’s body. To avoid unpleasant consequences, Cereton injections are contraindicated.
Before taking this anticholinergic stimulant, you should take into account its compatibility with other medications:
- Sedatives or antidepressants. Simultaneous use most often leads to an increase in the sedative effect of the former. For this reason, such complex therapy should be abandoned or the dosage adjusted.
- Other drugs from the group of nootropics (including in tablet form). Cereton is a nootropic substance, so its combined use with other drugs in this group most often causes adverse reactions and overdose.
- Tablets for arterial hypertension. With a simultaneous course of these medications, the risk of side effects that affect the nervous system increases sharply. If complex treatment is necessary, the dose is adjusted.

Cereton solution: reviews of the drug
Polina Shashkova, Novouralsk I am already 56 years old, and in recent years my memory has begun to rapidly deteriorate. My relatives also began to notice this and were even afraid to let me go out alone, because they also had difficulties with orientation. At the insistence of family members, she began treatment. The doctor prescribed Cereton injections. I completed the course and my health improved. I should note that when I was undergoing treatment, I had a headache, but I endured everything. Now everything is fine. My memory has been restored, my head doesn’t hurt. Two months have passed since the treatment. David Doronin, Perm A misfortune happened to me. I was in a car accident. He suffered fractures and a traumatic brain injury. The treatment was long and serious. It took a long time to recover, about a year. It would seem that everything had returned to normal, but frequent dizziness and insomnia continued to torment me. Then the doctor who treated me prescribed Cereton. Now my head doesn't bother me. The medicine helped. My ability to work has returned. Kira Evdokimova, Vladimir My mother is 68 years old. One night while sleeping she suffered an ischemic mini-stroke. Of course, we made every effort to begin treatment immediately. We injected Cereton, there is a noticeable improvement, now we have switched to taking Cereton capsules. We really hope for a favorable outcome, because positive dynamics are noticeably visible, however, we are still far from a normal state. Coordination of movements has not yet been fully restored, and concentration is far from normal. Larisa Seliverstova, Noyabrsk My husband’s character changed a lot after a concussion. He began to behave very aggressively, suffers from insomnia, experiences constant intense headaches and some kind of incomprehensible anxiety, and it has become difficult to communicate with him. It was not easy to convince him to start treatment, but in the end he was persuaded. The doctor advised me to pierce Cereton. A month has passed since the treatment, my sleep has become much better, but the other symptoms still remain at the same level. Matvey Matvienko, Zelenodolsk I, like my comrades, wanted to restore my memory with the help of Cereton. They praised him greatly. But nothing worked out for me. After the first injection I began to feel very sick, the doctor canceled the injection. Grigory Gushchin, Krymsk My father was overtaken by senile dementia at a fairly advanced age. Became worse than a child. He doesn’t remember anything, where he is, he doesn’t know, it became dangerous to leave him alone, because at any moment he could leave in an unknown direction or do something that, as they say, “doesn’t fit into any framework.” We turned to a doctor for help, he recommended Cereton injections. They pierced him, some time passed and his condition improved. Now he began to understand and remember what you say to him. Of course, it is completely unlikely to return to normal. But even this state of his suits us. Anna Orekhova, Murmansk I have been working as a dispatcher for a large transport company for 23 years. Lately I've been getting headaches towards the end of the work week and it's become difficult for me to concentrate. And in my work this is unacceptable. I had to look for a way to restore my health so as not to lose my job. We recommended Cereton. Not enough time has passed since the treatment to draw final conclusions, but I already feel a significant improvement.
