Elimination of skin lesions, inflammatory processes in the upper layer of the epidermis and stabilization of microflora on the skin - this is the main purpose of salicylic-zinc ointment.
Due to its composition and the absence of negative effects on the body in the form of accumulation of the active substance of the drug in the treated tissues, salicylic-zinc ointment can be prescribed for use for a long time without harm to health.
Presented on sale in the form of an ointment, the external preparation in question is easy to use and has a minimal number of side effects.
The possibility of using the ointment both in monotherapy and in complex use increases the scope of its application.
By drying the skin and eliminating inflammation, salicylic-zinc ointment can be used for both adults and children.
Dosage forms
The drug in question is sold in the form of a paste with a uniform consistency, which is easily applied to damaged areas of the skin. Both active components affect the affected skin: by reducing the rate of inflammatory reactions, they cause the rapid restoration of normal microflora, eliminating the manifestations of the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms.
The paste has a light gray tint and is packaged in 25 g jars.
The active components of the paste are zinc oxide and salicylic acid, which primarily act on the skin as anti-inflammatory components that stimulate the regeneration of damaged tissue. The paste also contains the following substances:
- purified paraffin;
- petrolatum;
- potato starch.
A balanced composition guarantees the fastest results in skin treatment.
The cost indicator may vary slightly among different selling companies and is about 85-120 rubles per can of paste.
Having a pronounced drying, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect, salicylic-zinc ointment also stimulates tissue regeneration processes and eliminates swelling.
Both active components have a disinfecting effect, affecting the affected areas of the skin; however, they do not have a pronounced negative effect on healthy skin without traces of inflammation and damage by pathogenic microflora.
Using the paste is not particularly difficult.
The main rule for obtaining a pronounced effect should be to apply it regularly to the damaged part of the skin, pre-cleanse and monitor the condition of the skin.
In some cases, for example, with increased skin sensitivity to any component of the product and with a tendency to allergic reactions, there is a high probability of aggravation of the initial manifestations.
The difference in the use of salicylic-zinc ointment when used in the treatment of dermatological lesions lies in the age of the patient, the degree of neglect of the disease and the size of the affected area.
For adults
- For adults, the frequency of application of the drug is 2-4 times a day. After application, you should leave the drug on your face for some time; Without being absorbed, it remains on the skin in the form of a white spot for a certain period of time. After 20-25 minutes, the paste is gradually absorbed, the active ingredients begin their healing work to restore the skin.
- The duration of use of the drug depends on the severity of the positive effect and elimination of manifestations of the underlying disease. It can be used for quite a long time due to the non-aggressiveness of the composition. On average, for an adult, its use should be 1.5-2 weeks.
- The use of salicylic-zinc paste for acne is characterized by the need to apply it to the rash itself. You can apply the product point-by-point: using a cotton swab, apply the ointment directly to the pimple, in a thick enough layer to enhance the effect. It dries out, which prevents the rash from spreading over a larger surface of the skin.
This drug is also suitable for use in the treatment of children. The minimal number of negative manifestations and excellent indications for the treatment of dermatological problems make it possible to prescribe salicylic-zinc ointment when acne appears in children (which is especially important in adolescence), and with increased sweating of the armpits.
The frequency of applying the paste should not exceed 3 times a day, preferably twice. The duration of treatment with this drug is 1-1.5 weeks. With supervision by a dermatologist, you can get the most pronounced positive results and prevent possible negative manifestations on the skin.
Salicylic-zinc ointment is prescribed to newborns when the positive therapeutic effect predominates over the probable negative one. In this case, medical supervision is required.
special instructions
The drug must be properly stored to maintain its medicinal qualities. A dark place, constant room temperature, inaccessibility to children and constant low humidity - these are the main conditions for storing salicylic-zinc paste.
When prescribing the drug in complex therapy with other drugs intended for the treatment of skin lesions, there is no decrease in the medicinal qualities of the drug.
Alcohol intake does not have a noticeable negative effect when treated with salicylic-zinc paste. However, alcoholic drinks reduce the rate of self-healing of the skin.
Salicylic-zinc paste is produced by pharmaceutical companies in the form of a paste for external use.
The dosage form of the drug is presented in the form of a paste for external use. The mass is white or gray-cream in color. The composition has a yellow tint. The drug is packaged in dark glass jars or aluminum tubes of 25 mg. The paste contains salicylic acid and zinc oxide. Potato starch and petroleum jelly are used as educational agents.
In our online pharmacy, salicylic-zinc paste is presented in a 25 g jar. The active ingredients of the paste are: • Salicylic acid (Lassara paste) 20 grams; • Zinc oxide 0.250 grams. Additional components of the composition are indifferent petroleum jelly, starch. The paste has a white or slightly yellowish color, thick consistency, and a faint odor. Dosage form – paste.
Differences between zinc ointment and paste
The main differences between these drugs:
- Concentration of the active substance. The paste contains 25% zinc oxide, and the ointment contains only 10%. Therefore, the paste is recommended to be used for the treatment of acute inflammatory processes, ulcerative formations and weeping eczema, and the ointment is recommended for the treatment of sluggish, chronic diseases.
- Consistency. Zinc paste is denser and thicker than ointment, which is due to the increased content of powdery substances - zinc oxide and potato starch. The paste retains its shape and does not spread when heated to body temperature, holds well on the surface of the treated area and is difficult to remove from the skin. Soft and greasy ointment, under the influence of body heat, is easier to apply and absorbs faster, penetrating into the deep layers of the dermis.
The drugs have different packaging. The ointment is most often packaged in aluminum tubes, and the paste is packaged in cylindrical glass bottles made of dark glass. To apply the ointment, you don’t need to make any special efforts - just squeeze the tube, squeeze out the required amount of product and lubricate the problem area with it.
Zinc paste is most often packaged in cylindrical glass bottles made of dark glass.
Pharmacological properties
Due to the combined action of the active components, salicylic-zinc paste has a bactericidal, softening, astringent, protective and moderate keratolytic (exfoliating) effect. Belongs to a group of drugs intended exclusively for external use. If the recommended doses are observed, the medicine is practically not absorbed from the systemic bloodstream.
Pharmacodynamics
Salicylic-zinc paste is a combined product intended for external use.
The actions of the drug due to the active substances included in its composition:
- salicylic acid: keratolytic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory;
- zinc oxide: drying agent.
Salicylic-zinc paste is a combined product intended for external treatment of the skin. The activity of the drug is due to the inclusion of active components in its composition. Salicylic acid provides keratolytic, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Zinc oxide has a drying effect. After applying the paste to the skin, the active ingredients are adsorbed into the tissue and absorbed into the systemic bloodstream in small quantities. The drug can be used in combination therapy or is the main active ingredient in monotherapy.
Treatment with dermatoprotectors with zinc
Preparations with zinc oxide are used in the treatment of: dermatitis; eczema; diaper rash; bedsores; acne; burns; shallow damage to the skin; prickly heat, diaper rash, manifestations of diathesis in babies. In cosmetology, dermatoprotectors against wrinkles and freckles are used as protection against negative atmospheric factors (added to sunscreens).
Dermatoprotectors have found application in the complex treatment of herpes, chicken pox, hemorrhoids and some other diseases. In this case, it should be remembered that these drugs relieve unpleasant symptoms and accelerate the regeneration of damaged tissues if the causative agent of the disease is destroyed.
Zinc ointment is prescribed for the treatment of chronic skin diseases that require the penetration of the drug into its deep layers. Zinc paste is used for acute infection of the skin. Due to the presence of starch in the composition of the medicine, the affected tissues are adsorbed and absorption slows down. An increased concentration of zinc oxide improves the regeneration of skin cells in the upper layers.
Dermatoprotectors are prescribed by a doctor individually for each patient , depending on the condition of the affected skin areas and the type of disease. Zinc ointment and paste are interchangeable, but the best one will be the one that is more suitable in this particular situation for the fastest localization of the lesion.

The paste should be applied to inflamed skin up to 6 times a day.
The instructions for use recommend doing this spot-on, only on areas where there are pimples, spots or calluses.
It is recommended to apply the drug pointwise
Before applying the product, the skin must be thoroughly cleaned of any remaining cosmetic products.
Salicylic-zinc paste does not combine well with other substances, so it is recommended to avoid using other ointments and decorative cosmetics during treatment.
For acne
Salicylic-zinc paste is often used for acne not only on the face, but also on other parts of the body.
- It is recommended to apply it up to 6 times a day, but rarely does anyone have such an opportunity. After all, the paste is very greasy and is poorly absorbed.
- Therefore, most often use the paste twice a day - morning and evening. Moreover, after applying it before going to bed, you do not need to wash it off.
- In the morning, after some time, the remaining product is removed with a napkin.
If you can stay at home, you can remove the pimple in one day: to do this, you need to apply a little paste to it every two hours.
For pigment spots
The effectiveness of the paste against age spots is explained by its composition.
Both zinc oxide and salicylic acid have a whitening effect and exfoliate the upper layer of the epidermis.
The drug should be applied to the spots several times a day.
To make the paste absorb better and work faster, you can mix it in equal quantities with any face cream.
From sweating
Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis most often occurs in the armpits, feet and back.
- The effectiveness of salicylic-zinc paste for this problem is explained by a combination of antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and drying effects.
- In addition, it normalizes the functioning of the sweat glands.
It should be applied after a shower to well-dried skin.
Ringworm is infectious in nature, so its treatment must be comprehensive.
But to relieve its external manifestations, salicylic-zinc paste is often used. If you apply it in a thin layer to lichen spots 2 times a day, after a while they will become less noticeable.
This drug is also effective in evening out the texture of the skin with psoriasis.
This disease is often accompanied by itching and other unpleasant sensations. And the use of the paste relieves all symptoms, moisturizes the skin, removes peeling and gradually leads to the disappearance of psoriatic plaques.
This problem also often worries women.
And salicylic-zinc paste can also help.
- The method of using it is very simple - you need to steam your leg, then apply a layer of the drug to the affected area. It is best to do this at night so that the paste remains on the rough skin for at least 6 hours.
- After this, the ointment is removed and the callus is treated with pumice.
Efficiency
This remedy is very effective in treating fresh inflammation.
If you immediately apply a thin layer of paste to the area when redness appears, you can prevent the development of a pimple. In this case, the inflammation quickly passes. If you know how to use the paste correctly, it will help maintain healthy skin.
Advantages and disadvantages
Numerous reviews and photos before and after its use speak about the effectiveness of salicylic-zinc paste.
- It really helps to clear the face of rashes, and pimples do not appear for a long time even after the end of the course of treatment.
- What many people also like about this drug is its low price.
But this tool also has its drawbacks.
- The most important thing is that the paste cannot be used for cosmetics. And to achieve the best result, you need to apply it 5-6 times a day. For many people this is very inconvenient.
- In addition, the thick consistency of the ointment means that it is poorly absorbed, is almost not washed off with water and can clog pores. Therefore, it is recommended to remove any remaining paste with a dry cloth some time after application.
Salicylic-zinc paste is an almost natural preparation.
It contains no complex chemical compounds. Therefore it is considered safe.
Many people who have been struggling with skin rashes on their faces all their lives have heard about the existence of such a magical and cheap ointment as salicylic-zinc paste.
It effectively removes spots, pimples and other problems, but, unfortunately, is practically not used today due to the presence of a large number of drugs with similar effects on the pharmaceutical market.
In this article we will talk about the benefits of this medicine, and also describe in detail how to use salicylic-zinc paste.
About 100 years ago, one of the leading German dermatologists of the time, Lassar, invented salicylic-zinc paste. Literally immediately after its discovery, the doctor received a patent for this drug. Therefore, in modern pharmacies the ointment can be found under the name “Lassara Paste”.
It is important not to confuse simply zinc ointment with salicylic-zinc paste, although this is very common, because both medicines are used to treat ailments with similar symptoms. However, these drugs differ slightly from each other in composition.
It is quite difficult to answer the question of which is better—zinc paste or salicylic-zinc paste, because each of these drugs is highly effective. The only difference between them is that zinc paste, as a rule, treats best only rashes, while salicylic-zinc:
- Disinfects the skin
- Regenerates her
- Dries out
- Reduces sebum production
- Relieves irritation
- Increases elasticity
Such a wide range of effects of the drug is due to its composition. Salicylic-zinc paste consists of:
- Zinc oxide, which is odorless and insoluble in liquid
- Salicylic acid
- Vaseline
- Potato starch
Manufacturers of skin medications very often use this compound as a basis for other drugs - ointments, baby powders and creams. This suggests that salicylic-zinc paste does not have any side effects, except for allergies in rare cases in some people who have an individual intolerance to some elements of the drug.
To achieve the desired result from the use of salicylic-zinc paste, it must be used correctly. First of all, it is necessary to take into account that the medicine can only affect “fresh” inflamed areas of the skin.
How to apply it:
- Cleanse your skin using a cosmetic toner that removes decorative cosmetics. Otherwise, salicylic-zinc paste simply won’t help.
- Cover the inflamed area of skin with a thin layer of ointment and do not wash it off. Apply the ointment carefully so that it does not get on other healthy areas of the skin or mucous membranes.
This procedure must be done several times a day (no more than 6) until complete recovery, maintaining the same amount of time after each application.
Zinc ointment or paste - which is better?
This medicine is qualitatively different from other products for caring for the delicate skin of babies. Find out more about the advantages, indications, and features of the use of this dermatotropic drug in newborns. This drug is widely used in the treatment of many skin diseases.
- antibacterial effect;
- antifungal activity;
- anti-inflammatory effect;
- adsorbing properties.
Ointment for diaper rash in newborns includes several active ingredients, among which benzyl benzoate can be highlighted. Many questions arise regarding the safety of the latter for children.
The fact is that this substance has strict age restrictions for use. It must be said that the fears of loving parents about benzyl benzoate are completely unfounded. Sudocrem contains a minimal amount of acaricidal substance.
In addition to benzyl benzoate, allergy cream for infants contains the following active ingredients:
- benzyl alcohol;
- lanolin;
- zinc oxide;
- benzyl cinnamate.
The drug is recommended for the treatment of inflammatory skin rashes. The use of Sudocrem for children is caused by diaper dermatitis and irritation resulting from wearing diapers.
According to the instructions, contraindications to the use of the ointment are exudative diathesis and individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
Otherwise, Sudocrem for newborns is considered a safe remedy for the treatment of redness, peeling and other dermatological problems, among which the following can be highlighted:
- atopic dermatitis;
- diaper dermatitis;
- bedsores;
- skin itching and rash;
- allergic diathesis (in the absence of weeping crusts and rashes on the child’s body);
- skin infections;
- prickly heat.
This disease in newborns is often accompanied by cracks and excessive dryness of the skin. In this case, symptoms arise due to unreasonable loss of moisture from the dermis. Sudocrem for dermatitis has a healing effect on the affected areas. In addition, due to the lanolin content, the ointment creates a protective barrier that prevents damage to the baby's dry skin.
Young children have incredibly delicate and sensitive skin, which makes them susceptible to the negative effects of many external factors.
Young mothers often wonder how to treat diaper rash in infants that appears as a result of wearing diapers. Old-school doctors, as a rule, advise using regular starch at home.
Younger experts recommend using special products designed for daily skin care of newborns.
Often the cause of irritation can be errors in the nutrition of a nursing mother, while newborns often develop diathesis.
In such a situation, the product will have a drying, wound-healing effect, eliminate itching and severe discomfort.
The cost of children's ointment is often unreasonably inflated by pharmacies. At the same time, the price of the drug often reaches prohibitive values, which is somewhat unfair to the consumer.
Sudocrem is one of the most effective means of preventing and treating dermatological diseases in newborns; for this reason, sellers should be understanding and not inflate the cost of the drug without obvious reasons.

The pharmacological effect of the drug is largely determined by the presence of zinc oxide in its composition. This substance has wound-healing and bactericidal properties.
Until recently, pediatricians prescribed analogs of Sudocrem such as Zinc ointment or Tsindol to newborns suffering from prickly heat and other dermatological problems.
Currently, the pharmacy chain offers consumers a wide range of products to care for the delicate skin of babies. The following drugs are direct analogues of Sudocrem:
- Desitin;
- Bepanthen cream;
- Children's Rescuer;
- Vitaon Baby.
I had no luck with the pediatrician; she didn’t even recommend a remedy for constipation for the child. Therefore, if necessary, I solve most of the problems myself, looking for suitable articles on the Internet.
Somehow, irritation appeared on the child’s back, near his butt. I didn’t immediately understand what it was and since the area covered the diaper, I thought it was diaper dermatitis. Besides, it was very similar. But then it turned out that it was an allergy.
There are good recommendations everywhere for Desitin cream (ointment). It is used both for diaper dermatitis and allergic reactions to reduce irritation.
I found Desitin at the pharmacy without any problems, unlike Drapolene, which was nowhere to be found. The cost of the product is 220 rubles, packaging 50g.
Manufacturer: Johnson & Johnson, France.
The packaging of the cream is convenient, made of durable material. The child often bites through tubes of creams; this one is one of the few that survived. So it’s not scary if it falls into the hands of a baby.
The tube cap is large, making it convenient to dispense the cream.
But unlike ointment, Desitin cream has virtually no odor. The improved formula of the cream is convenient to apply, quickly and easily absorbed.
Consumption depends on the area of tissue damage and how often the cream is applied.
After the first use, I did not notice any improvement. Desitin does not dry out the skin at all, but rather moisturizes it; there was no effect from its use even after several days of use.
I began to alternate this product with regular powder and the latter was much more effective.
The powder and cream contain the same active ingredient zinc oxide, but the cream has the opposite effect due to the oils it contains.
Use for diaper rash.
I tried to use this cream for diaper rash. The process was again longer. When using powder or Bepanten, diaper rash went away in half a day, but with this cream it disappeared only after three days, and then after I stopped using it.
Sometimes powder is not enough and I use Bepanthen / D-panthenol. Desitin powder lost.
– convenient packaging;
– does not contain fragrances or dyes;
– easy to apply;
– absorbs quickly.
– ineffective compared to other means.
Desitin is suitable if you don’t have powder or D-Panthenol on hand, but I don’t recommend purchasing it as a stand-alone product.
Desitin may be more effective in the form of an ointment, but as a cream, the product has not justified itself.
And so, the long-awaited baby appeared in my house.
A baby and diaper rash problems are inseparable concepts. I bought Bepanten ointment for the maternity hospital, since this product is universal for caring for the baby (under the diaper, to apply some irritation on the face) and for the mother (cracks, bruises on the nipples during feeding).
At one time, Bepanten ointment simply saved me from eczema. I wrote about this in my other review, you can read it here. But... this product is not cheap and is used up very quickly. Upon returning home from the maternity hospital, I thought about buying a more economical product that was no less good to use.
My sister, as an experienced mother, recommended Sudocrem to me.
I am adding to the review. I found last year’s photo of my son from July. It was very hot. And at the site of the diaper fastener the child had diaper rash and large red pimples appeared.
In terms of importance for the human body, zinc takes an honorable second place, giving way to iron.
A deficiency of the substance manifests itself on the skin and hair, which lose their former appearance, and cuts and wounds take much longer to heal.
Zinc can exhibit the greatest activity in combination with oxygen (zinc oxide); in this form it is presented in zinc ointment, which has a wide range of applications.
Chemical composition
Zinc oxide is produced in different forms, but all products are intended exclusively for external use. The composition of the ointment includes zinc oxide and petroleum jelly in a ratio of 1:10. Other auxiliary components in the production of the drug are wax, lanolin and dimethicone.
Medicines that are used for external use for therapeutic purposes or to protect the skin from external factors are called dermatoprotectors.
In our article we suggest paying attention to such preparations as zinc ointment and paste.
The main indications for the use of the drugs in question are diaper rash, diaper dermatitis, minor burns, scratches, local inflammatory processes in the area of the upper layers of the skin.
Let’s immediately make a reservation that the active ingredient of the ointment and paste is zinc oxide. This chemical compound has pronounced antiseptic characteristics, has a drying and astringent effect, and alleviates the symptomatic severity of inflammation on the surface of the skin.
The difference between zinc paste and ointment is observed upon a detailed examination of the composition of the drugs and the mechanism of their action. In the first option, the zinc content predominates and is 25%. The remaining mass belongs to potato starch.
Side effects
When using a medication, adverse reactions may occur, expressed in the form of allergies. Most often, patients experience severe itching and burning at the application site. In this case, you should stop using the product and consult a doctor. The specialist will select another remedy that is an analogue of the medicinal composition.
During the period of use of Salicylic-zinc paste, allergic reactions may develop.
Side effects of the paste may manifest themselves in the form of an allergic skin reaction to interaction with any of the components of the drug. It is necessary to stop treatment if local hyperthermia, burning sensation, itching, hyperemia, or peeling occur.
Allergic reactions.
Applications and dosages
The dosage regimen is determined individually. The product is recommended to be applied directly to damaged skin after pre-treatment. The composition is applied in a thin layer and not covered with a gauze film. The paste should be absorbed into the skin on its own. The treatment is repeated 2 times a day.
for adults
Representatives of this age category can use the product if there are indications for use. Salicylic-zinc paste is applied to the skin in a thin layer. The product should not be rubbed vigorously or applied in a thick layer. A thin layer of the composition is applied within 10-15 minutes. Since the ointment leaves marks on clothing, you should wait until it is completely absorbed.
for children
Children over 12 years of age use the drug according to the regimen indicated for adult patients. Patients under the age of 12 years can use the medication as prescribed by a doctor, in compliance with all the described rules. Doctors recommend using the drug on limited areas of the skin.
Reviews
Maria, 28 years old.
I tried many advertised antifungal drugs. But they completely disappointed me. Some caused terrible irritation, others did not produce any results at all. Mom said that she once treated the fungus with ordinary salicylic acid. As it turns out, this is an inexpensive salicylic-zinc paste that is sold in every pharmacy without a prescription. I rubbed it into my skin 5 times a day and after two weeks I began to notice that the disease was receding. That's how I was cured with a cheap ointment.
Valeria, 33 years old.
When my child was diagnosed with toenail fungus on his big toe, I firmly decided that I would not treat him with antifungal drugs. I consider them a money grab, and with a bunch of side effects. I looked on the Internet for safe methods that would not harm the child. I came across zinc paste. I always had it in my medicine cabinet, but I didn’t know about its use in this way. So I started applying it to my nails 4-5 times a day. Within a month, a new, healthy plate appeared.
Anna, 64 years old.
Six months ago my heels started cracking. At first I didn’t attach any importance, I thought it was because of the uncomfortable shoes. Later I noticed that there was itching, burning, and the skin began to get wet. I went to a dermatologist and everything became clear – foot fungus. They prescribed tablets, ointments, and antibiotics. Instead of the prescribed ointment, I used zinc paste. After a month of treatment, the cracks disappeared. I continued to rub the paste in for another week, just in case.

Salicylic-zinc acne paste - reviews, instructions for use, before and after photos
Salicylic-zinc paste, also known as Lassara paste, is a budget-friendly remedy for the treatment of acne. The two-component drug gives the first positive results just a few weeks after regular use. The paste is used both in its pure form and as part of acne masks.
The drug contains 2 active substances: zinc and salicylic acid. The first component helps suppress the excessive activity of the sebaceous glands, as a result of which favorable conditions for the development of acne disappear - in which bacteria multiply. In addition, zinc has a pronounced effect on inflammatory elements, reducing their size.
Salicylic-zinc paste is available in pharmacies without a prescription
Salicylic acid, in turn, helps destroy microorganisms that cause acne. These 2 components in the paste enhance each other’s action, thereby speeding up recovery. This drug is used to treat acne on any part of the human body. The exception is the mucous membranes.
The paste has the following positive effects on problem skin:
- reduces and dries out acne, including subcutaneous acne;
- enhances regeneration processes in the area of inflammation;
- prevents the appearance of new acne;
- makes the epidermis more elastic, which is an excellent prevention of post-acne scars;
- exhibits antibacterial properties.
Salicylic-zinc paste helps get rid of acne in a short time and is an excellent preventive measure for the occurrence of new ones.
Salicylic-zinc paste should be used as follows:
- Pre-cleanse the skin of dirt and makeup.
- Apply the paste with a cotton swab to problem areas.
It is not recommended to apply the product all over the face, as the consistency of the product is quite thick and greasy, which will create discomfort. It is best to use the paste at night for a long time. The course of treatment is at least a month.
If there are a large number of inflammatory elements, it is recommended to apply the composition 3 times a day in a thin layer.
The salicylic-zinc preparation can also be used in combination with other components and applied as a mask for 15–20 minutes. To do this, you can prepare an anti-inflammatory composition, which includes this paste and aspirin. The following sequence of actions must be followed:
- Dissolve 2 tablets of regular aspirin in warm boiled water (about half a teaspoon of liquid is needed).
- Place 0.5 tsp in a glass bowl. salicylic-zinc composition.
- Mix pre-dissolved aspirin into it until a homogeneous consistency is obtained.
- Apply to a previously cleansed area of the face for 20 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
This mask can be done once a week. Thanks to the aspirin included in its composition, the effect of zinc and salicylic acid will be enhanced. You can make similar masks by adding Levomycetin to the paste, which will help increase the antibacterial effect. The preparation algorithm is the same, only Levomycetin tablets will have to be crushed manually, and only then dissolved in water.
A mask based on salicylic-zinc paste has a dense consistency
This anti-acne product has virtually no contraindications. However, during pregnancy and breastfeeding it is better to abstain from such a composition. The main caveats are also:
- dermatitis of unknown origin;
- presence of burns;
- open wounds;
- intolerance to the main components;
- dry seborrhea of long duration.
In addition, you should not apply the paste to flaky areas, if any.
Side effects when using the drug are rare, but in some cases the following skin reactions may occur:
- itching;

Zinc paste for herpes
Zinc paste for herpes on the lips was used by Soviet doctors, but even now this remedy does not lose its relevance. This is due to the availability of the drug, low cost and high efficiency. If you apply the paste when the first tingling or itching appears, in many cases the herpes recedes and no blisters form.
When the moment of onset of the disease is missed, zinc paste can also be used for treatment. In such cases, the drug is applied directly to the lesions. Before treating your lips, you must treat your hands with an antiseptic.
Zinc paste has proven to be highly effective in treating burns. The product helps equally well with both sunburn and thermal burns. The ability to adsorb ultraviolet light helps to quickly eliminate sunburn and restore the epidermis. The paste relieves inflammation, removes irritation, forming a protective layer on the surface.
How to use:
- The product is applied 4-6 times a day.
- If possible, cover with a sterile napkin.
- For many patients, the question remains how long to keep zinc paste on the skin. The dressing is changed once a day.
The product can be prescribed for various types of dermatitis. Before using zinc paste in complex therapy, doctors try to establish the etiology of the disease.
Thus, in the treatment of seborrheic or atopic dermatitis, the paste is used until complete recovery or removal of severe symptoms. At the same time, it is worth considering the effectiveness of therapy: using zinc paste for more than a month without visible changes is unacceptable.
For diaper dermatitis in children, a single application to thoroughly washed and dried skin may be required.
